So I Went Into A Cingular Cooperate Store Today...

Because they said they had the new phones and rate plans.

They did have all the new phones (The R3 is SWEET!! I might add the people at the store won new ones in some kinda of contest) the V551 is nice also BUT the rate plans are the same.

The store people said they had received all the new company literature over the weekend and besides the new phones everything for new customers would be the same as before.

Guess my *incentives* to leaving Nextel for Cingular are not going to be there.

Yes and they don't offer insurance for the phone so it breaks a month down the road you are SOOL to the tune of 500 bucks.

lockline has to accept insurance. they may require proof of purchase. it's not a PDA although expensive should be covered

I don't think they do. Some of the AT&T PDA phones weren't covered.

yeah lock/line customer service sucks... but oh well i don't know too many insurance companies that are sweeties to you either......

They do not offer insurance on the Razor V3 because of the lack of replacement phones possible and the cost of it. That's a reason why they don't offer insurance on Treo's or blackberry's.

the v3 to me isn't worth the money.. just an overpriced v551.... (your paying for the AL case and keypad)

Meant to say the RAZ V3. Got to check one out and test some of the features and functions. It is SWEET!! Reminds me of probably the greatest phone Motorola quit making. The indestructible StarTek. They start making those again for US phone carriers they will I am buying one.

From reading the post on this forum I was assuming there would be three different sets of rate plans not just the Cingular Nation Plan.

I run thru a little over a thousand mins a month.

Most of my calls are incoming and with just the basic Nextel Free Incoming 500 plan I am more than covered and I only pay after taxes with my cooperate discount 40 bucks.

That includes free long distance, nations wide direct connect(which I know cinguar does not have but plans to have next year) and unlimited nights and weekends.

And it includes unlimited text messaging and nextel phone INTERNET extras.

Some of us POOR INTERNET junkies have to stretch our dollar for more than what's it's worth.
