Blackberry Curve or IPhone?? (Cingular Reps??)

Thannah4

Hi,
I am on the verge of renewing my contract with Cingular and purchasing a new phone. I have been looking at the Blackberry Curve for several days, but with the upcoming release of the iPhone, I'm wondering if I should wait. I'm a Financial Analyst and currently own a Blackberry Pearl that I keep close at hand for emails and such. The 2 things that throw me about the iPhone are 1. The price (of course) and 2. Its durability. My pearl I can simply toss into my purse and go, but that doesn't seem like something I'd be able to do with the iPhone w/out ruining it. I'm also wanting something that's going to function well with my work lifestyle. I've heard lots of great things about the Curve. The pearl is just not what I thought it wo...

The best thing about the curve (there are many improvements over the pearl) is the keys are 1000% easier to type on and it now has spellcheck on it. Its a great device now if they would only put 3g in it it would be perfect.

honestly get the curve. My blackbeery rep just left and i was playing with his and its awsome. the sound quality is great we were watching movies with the sound all the way up and no distortion at all. the clarity of the screen is great and the keys are awsome. they are sped apart so they are easier to hit. the 8800 were bunched up but the curve is a great feel to hit and way easy to type. i am very very impressed with the curve and the camera is great. also you can expand your memory with a curve and your not able to with the iphone. i say save a few hundred bucks and get the curve

Thanks. That's what I figured. There's just so much hype over the iPhone, but I really need something more practical. The iPhone seems so neat and high tech, but it also looks like it'll have a lot of glitches and be easily broken. Thanks for the info. You've made up my mind.

I switched from the Pearl to the Curve. There are small differences in the UI, and of course the keyboard and camera are different. There aren't a lot of technical differences, but I enjoy using the Curve a lot more. I liked my Pearl, but I didn't wait a second in going to the Curve when it was released.

I've been assembling a side by side comparison of the iphone and Curve, but there's not a lot of trustworthy information on the iPhone out there yet. I'd probably wait until there is an official announcement of the phones technical specs before making a decision though.

The iphone is going to be problematic for a while, it will be at least 6 months to a year before you can feel good about getting one. It's like when ps3 or xbox comes out with its first batch there is always a problem. I have the curve and it is ridiculously good at what it claims to do, the iphone is going to be for fun, too expensive, and not that easy to use for business. good luck!

I traded it on the last day of my 30 day exchange, it was driving me nuts, I had to do 3 hard resets in 3 months. I'd rather have less maintenance.

I am not an iPhone apologist but you just flat out made that information up. Please tell me the last time Apple launched a product that was problematic.

All you had to do was insert the last two sentances and you could have made the same point.

Folks, please stop disparaging the iPhone (or other phones for that matter) with information that is flat out false. Especially on the subject of the iPhone you has ZERO basis for saying it could have issues.

Now on a side not the iPhone is not intended for business use.

I actually weighed out the PROS and CONS. And when I found out I could load movies onto my Blackberry Curve....it was a no brainer. I decided to stick with it and not fork out the money for the iPhone. Yeah, it's a great phone. But the Curve is so much more user friendly, I think. And WAY more durable. The Internet Explorer function has some new options. like the Full Desktop View Mode. IT actually has a floating cursor. Sort of like a mouse. THe media player is AWESOME. The reception is Great and the look is killer.
