i returned a blackjack that i just upgraded to get, and i got the pearl instead. i noticed that the voice quality on the phone is bad, and the ringers are low, i like the look of the phone but it seems bad, anyone here have any suggestions on how to improve the functions of the phone...thanks

I made the same mistake. Go and get the blackjack. I know im going to get flack for this... But i exchanged mine for the Pearl and 750...And got better quality out of the Blackjack. The pearl sucks. You get 3G data with the BlakJack, BETTER screen resolution, NO suretype...

I love my blackjack. No iphone for me either.

It's only $329 retail {which is good for GoPhone users}! I may have to do the same.

I have a Blackjack and I actually like my v3xx better as a phone, but there's a lot of cool stuff you can do with windows mobile phones. I have a bunch of cool different fully functioning backgrounds, one of them looking exactly like the iPhone background, and a bunch of old Nintendo games like Tecmo Bowl and MT's Punch Out on there.

Are they on two separate lines or do you go back and forth?

fyi you can download software to do all that on your v3xx. I have a bunch of old school games as well as movies and other software on my v3xx. Its one of the best phones i have ever used.

Yep; because the UI isn't restricted, like Verizon {which is one of the reasons why I'm leaving them}.

I think you're both crazy. I had the Pearl, and it was wonderful, but I traded up to the Curve, which is also amazing. I gave up the 3G for a Blackberry, and don't regret it. I also get twice the battery life out of it than the BJ gives you.

Do you use your phone as a phone only, or do you use the features too?

I use phone and features. I email all day, I use the web browser at least twice an hour to reference on thing or another, I send about 7000 texts a month, and talk about 4000 minutes. The lowest I've ever seen my battery at the end of the day is 25%.

I use the hell out of my phone, almost all of hte features. I want a Blackjack. I think it's good, especially since it's not prone to BT crippling, like my 700wx.

You're gonna have to make use of the two batteries that come with the BJ if you plan on using it a lot.

I agree. I have been using the pearl for a couple of weeks now and have been impressed. It's a little complicated to use, but no more than the Treo 650 I was using before. I use the media player, take some pics, have three email accounts set up, and use the internet a couple times a day. Battery life has been my only complaint actually but it's not bad enough to say it sucks.

I had a feeling that the Pearl was crap!

I really don't see how people compare Blackberries and PDA phones. Kind of like comparing a 4 door sedan to a coupe.

When I think of Blackberry, I only think of email capabilities. For anything else, there's many other different devices I'd rather have. Plus Suretype is a nightmare!
