so whats to stop a rep from just adding random FAN discounts? i mean how does ATT check that this particular person is really employed with that company? do they do check ups?

There's a validation team somewhere among the process & research folks that reviews that. When a FAN is added through a process other than the online registration (which is where all customers should be referred to), than the account is flagged. If the FAN was moved from one account to another, because of a number change or some other reason, it stays. If there's no validating information or anything (ie - the rep just typed it into the field), than it's removed. I'm not sure of the timeframe on this, but it's fairly quick: a few months at most, more likely weeks.

no it just never made sense to me. customers come into the store to add a FAN and the rep does it. im just saying how does ATT really know this person works for that company. i added my dads FAN he works fro coca cola and he gets 28% off his service... i added that back in november. its still on his account. i was just curious if they do follow ups or what?

at the store level the rep has to have proof of employment. i add fans all day long because we are accross from an army base.

hoyt, shouldn't you be standing on the sidewalk with a top hat on or something trying to get people into your store? Or maybe reading up on the csp so you don't have to call and ask questions ten times a day? I know its a stretch, but common buddy...
