AT&T says in talks for stake in Telecom Italia

NEW YORK, April 1 (Reuters) - AT&T Inc. (T.N: Quote, Profile, Research) on Sunday said it is in negotiations for a potential investment in Telecom Italia (TCM.MI: Quote, Profile, Research) S.p.A. whereby AT&T would buy a one-third stake in a holding company that owns around 18 percent of the Italian communication services provider.
As part of the deal, America Movil S.A.B. de C.V. is also considering an investment for one-third of the shares in the holding company, Olimpia S.p.A. AT&T's investment is contingent on America Movil's investment, the company said
