Another Take on Dropped Calls

huh . . . hope this works; the arrogance or any network to declare superiority of signal strength NATION WIDE when backed by only ONE research engine is laughable at best; and Cingular's network in rural areas usually SUCKS. I'm in rural IL, and there are dead spots within TWO MILES of the Cingular stores here. Whenever someone leaves Verizon from here, we always rejoice that we'll be getting "new customer" commissions in two years when they ralph on the carrier they switched to.

just because cingular has 2 dead spots in 1 single rural area does not mean in general terms that cingular "sucks" in rural areas. On the contrary, in MY area cingular works best in rural areas above ANY carrier, so should i say that cingular rules rural areas? no, becuase its what works best for your particular area.

Good lord. First off, being a Cingular employee (now the new at&t)... I just wanted to let you all know... the independent research doesn't by ANY means say we have the best network, it simply says that WE have the fewest dropped calls on our network when you are using your phone where there is service. stop reading so hard into it. d*mn, always quick to pick a fight. I worked for verizon for 6.5 years before I switched to Cingular, and I will tell you that there have been many things Ive noticed that are better with Cingular than with any other company. No service AT ALL with Verizon, my phone is cute and even says "Loss Of Service" when the phone is not receiving any service... look down... full service on my Cingular phone. πŸ™‚ don't be ...

I Currently work for Sprint, I personally think that guy is just trying to get out of a contract. Im pretty sure cingular gave him time to change his mind and wouldve known if he was having lots of dropped calls since his been with the company for TWO YEARS ALREADY, how stupid can you be to resign a contract and know your getting lots of dropped calls. How does one compare to another company if there getting fewer dropped calls without having two phones from two different carriers at the same time. Be smart you have the time to cxl your contract, Most of which is enought time to know if your phone is DROPPING CALLS. if not you deserve to pay the TERMINATION FEE, By the way i had a cingular employee add a line to his sprint account and he sai...

So let me get this straight. Cingular claims that nationwide, Telephia found them to have the fewest dropped calls. In the four listed markets Cingular didnt have the fewest.... but what about the rest of the country? I'm not trying to back up Cingular's claim, but not being first in four markets doesn't mean the nationwide claim is false. And the other "studies" were actually consumer surveys, SURVEYS! There is no factual information tested in surveys, its just people's opinions, thats all.

I think I'm going to file a class action suit against Taco Bell because they claim their value menu can fill you up, but yet I'm still hungry πŸ™„ πŸ™„ πŸ™„

Idiocy at it's best. Just because you saw an ad does not mean you don't have to at least do a little research into it. I know, we have some bad rural areas. However, if the phone doesn't work in your primary calling area don't keep the damn thing then complain two years later. You have thirty days, cancel it.

The best part is he was ALREADY a Cingular customer. It makes no mention that he experienced a decrease in quality (I would understand his concern then. Not the suit but his concern).

Beachslapped,

If you had actually done the reading, you would have realized that the link in my last post was not to a blog at all. It was to a website devoted to exposing false advertising claims. The Background link on their homepage states:

"”mouse print” is the fine print in advertising, in a contract, or on a product label, often buried out of easy sight. In the worst cases, the mouse print changes the meaning of, or contradicts the primary claims or promises being made. Sometimes, the catch is not even disclosed. In other cases, the fine print is ...

The problem with the Cingular/AT&T claim of fewest dropped calls is the CUSTOMERS!!!! First of all, it is true. Based on independent research among all the NATIONAL carriers, Cingular/AT&T does have the fewest dropped calls. That is FEWEST dropped calls, not NO DROPPED CALLS. Also, just because your call dropped, does not mean that it was Cingular/AT&T's fault. It takes two people to make a call. The other party may have had a dropped call.
