I'm an indirect AT&T Dealer. I wondered if anyone else noticed on the display model of the Nokia 3120 it has Cingular on it instead of AT&T Wireless. I thought that was pretty interesting. Also noticing that the 3120's box has no ATT&T markings on it. Just a standard Nokia box. IT'S GETTING CLOSE!!

Actually, this was a mistake that Nokia made, not something done on purpose. There was an email that went out explaining the mistake and asking everyone to ship back the improperly labeled phones.

But its a sign of things to come. Not sure if you noticed all the NEW LG's coming in LG-branded boxes rather than anything with AT&T Wireless on. The new Treo 600 boxes are coming non-branded as well. Getting ready for the big day...

When they merge, it won't really be that big of a deal. My Nokia 6800 and 6820 were both able to use Cingular, ATT, and T-Mobile towers depending on the availablility and need.

Now it'll be just an overall better signal when they're combined....I hope.... 😕

Noticed the sam 3 things
1. dummy unit for 3120 is a Cingular- probably a mistake
2. Lg 4020 box is generic
3. Nokia 3120 box is generic

Phones are still locked to attws though and do have attws disclaimer and legal crap on the box.

My guess- a cost cutting move, private labelling of boxes was expensive perhaps, and with the day getting closer why bother.

will be easier to sell them when all things are final perhaps.......

Also our Account Rep mentioned in some of the boxes there are no longer hands free head sets. This is a Cingular thing. They do not include them wanting each customer to buy 3 accessories at the point of activation. 1.) Leather case 2)Car Charger 3.) Hands Free
