How long until...

I have a question or two...

1) EXACTLY how long can you stay on an At&t contract until you are "forced" to migrate over to a Cingular plan?

2) If you don't want to migrate over to Cingular do you have a right to terminate your contract and not have to pay the ETF? (Of course I know you have to pay whatever air time charges remain)

Thanks for any help on this.

The terms of your current contract will be met, however once all ATTWs phones are gone, there will be no other options other than eBay. But even that will come to an end eventually. As all ATTWS contracts come to an end, they may make it written policy that the service MUST be migrated over to Cingular plans and phones.

Okay so if someone has a At&t contract that lasts until march of 2006, Cingular will honor their contract correct? But what about wanting to end your At&t contract? Will you have to pay an ETF? The only reason I am asking is because my sister has an At&t contract and she doesn't want to migrate to Cingular. So I wanted to know if she wanted to leave her At&t contract, can she do so without being charged an ETF since Cingular is trying to convert the At&t "holdouts" anyway? Sorry if I am repeating myself... 🤭

No youre not repeating yourself....If you canxl now and the contract ends in March 2006, the ETF will still apply. That is because Cingular now owns all rights to the ATTWS assets, and CIngular is not forcing you to change anything for the remainder of our contract.

Here in Florida, we come across countless customers that were once US Cellular, Cellular One, McCaw Cellular, etc....that tell us they had to meet the end of their contracts before cancelling w/O ETF but stayed after all bc the plans & service got much better.

Nut shell: ETF will still apply, but so will your plan
