Anyone else nervous?

I'm a bit nervous about what is to come with this merger. I've been with ATT a long long while now and don't like the fact it isn't around anymore. I guess I am just going to have to wait and see what comes.

If you're in customer care, I wouldn't worry. I'm not. You don't double your customer base and then start cutting your front line support.

Our call center is going to be one of 5 handling AWS customers moving to Cingular. Training is to begin in November.

While I'm sure things will change, I wouldn't necessarily be worried. You are moving away from a company that had twice as many complains to the BBB than any other carrier. Sounds good to me. (Although I don't have either one of those carriers)

I agree. Customer's should look forward to this change. You are going to be able to have better coverage nationwide, better data services, better everything. Some say this merger will slow down competition, I say it will increase it. Just be patient and wait for the good things to happen. It will take some time, but they will happen!

Also, while it is true AWS rec'd MANY complaints over the past year, they were from less than 2% of the customer base of approximately 22 million...that's something that the press doesn't let the public know. So compared to the large number of customers, the complaints were actually very few. But with that said, they were very legitimate complaints. Heck I work for the company and I was complaining, s...

attn berry 240..... I work in customer care for AT&T wireless and there are some general questions that our customers have been asking. Our customers DO NOT have to go to cingular if they don't want to. there are some things that Cingular has that in order to get , would require you to get a Cingular phone ( i/e rollover minutes) so as of right now are customers seem to be ok. if that helps at all

Correct.... while all At&t customers are not considered Cingular Customers.... they are grandfathered in to any deals and/or plans they may have...they can stay on those plans while enjoying the benifit of the combined companies resourses, and network.

If you are refering to the merger and AWS contracts, you are so incorrect. Current AWS subscribers will still enjoy their current rate plans and Cingular will honor the existing contracts.

For the most part thats true, but i got news for you, the charter plan is going bye bye-they are considered legacy plans by cingular, and they are dumping the charter cuz the customers on that plan did not have contracts by this point, and thats the whole thing, they are going to leave on certain plans but not the charter

And you know what, notice that Alpha tags swapped to cingular last couple of days, you aren't on the att network, roam fees apply out of hca.

And before you say-"You are so wrong" I got it confirmed today through Manager and Cingular trainers "on site" right now as to that is going away.

Agent Debit you argue like a child. At this moment you or I don't know what exactly the Cingular will do unless you are an executive of the company.

Other than that, your argument is simply based on speculation.

So far all of the courses I have trained for the merger don't specifically mention any rate plans to be expired, terminated, and/or removed from the system.

It is clear that Cingular will treat all AT&T Wireless Customer as a "legacy" and also Cingular will have its own "legacy customers". Which means that whatever the customers have they will keep.

I laughed when you mentioned the alpha tag has swapped and the roaming out of HCA which of course will make the customer be out of compliance according the terms and conditio...

Another thing I missed to mention is that Cingular has not deployed any trainers of its own. Cingular hired IBM consulting services to bring basic information to AT&T Wireless employees which included supervisors and managers.

This IBM consultants (which in fact don't work for IBM as they are subcontractors) don't know all details of the merger and its strategy.

IBM consulting services is assisting Cingular with a merger strategy which in turn creates some of the training material based upon Cingular's business model.

IBM then subcontracts to others to deploy and trickle down the information to the centers. This people has been given information to certain extend without any details as to what goes and what will remain.

I had FINALLY Cingular merger training today, and learned about the new migration tool. i was really impressed with the new system and look forward to using it. It's looks to be MUCH better than what we're using now.

Our call center is one of 5 (out of 10 'internal' centers) that have been selected as a CSE center. We will be migrating AWS customers over to Cingular's plans, IF they choose to do so.

Our trainers this morning advised that decisions were close to being made on rate plans and they thought they were made yesterday, but got a messgage this morning to NOT release anything to us.

As for our call center trainers, we have 5 out of state right now getting training so they can come back and train us. First day of that two ...

We just had our training this afternoon the trainer told us we were the first class to see the plans they look AWESOME, anybody wanting to switch wait till end of november, you are gonna see those WICKED plans, and BTW you are SO RIGHT,the migration device is so SWEET, i think like start to finish its like 10 minutes to finish the migration order. Finally a good project at the CON, whats next, good schedules ?????? 😈 😈 😈

But 1 BIG fact, once you migrate to cingular package you can't reverse migrate since the former ATT packages are now considered "legacy" plans!!!!So think carefully they are really great plans but once you leave the ATT plan - There is NO GOING BACK!!! 😈 😈

Actually that is wrong Debit. Cingular exces reverse that legacy rateplan change. They now have 30 day buyer remorse to switch back to their original attws plan. That was changed today. Every day the cingular reps talks with the head office, and they keep on changing the rules. Don't rule anything out, because they originally had it at once you switch, you're out of luck, but changed their mind stating that the attws buyers remorse period will still be in effect.

I just had my training 7 hours ago... That new rule was hot off the press at that time.

so everyone, pretty much, there won't be anything concrete for anything until the next couple of weeks. So about charter plans, and such, all that still has to be decided. Cingular c...

I think that changes will be evolving according to business needs. For what I understand the merger wants to get the best of both companies and since 30 buyers' remorse is better than 15 the adoption of such policy is welcome.

In my call center I don't know of any trainers out of town all I know is that by end of the month there will over 1000 reps on the floor.

i have to say that i am very excited about this switch, currently i have nextel and i really like them i just dont like the fact taht ihave to pay 300 for a camera phone and i really only have what about 12 phones to choose from , where as to cingular/att they have a wide selection of phones and i can almost get a camera phone for free, plus there coverage is awesome and i like the rollover min. i just only wish that TEXt messaging was unlimited! oh well
i cant wait!
