Has anybody seen the Verizon Website lately?

UT Starcom 8945 - Free

Motorola V325i - $29

Motorola RAZR V3m - $39

Motorola KRZR K1m - $49

G'zone Type V - $99

Samsung SCH-i730 - $99

Motorola Q - $129

I say that's pretty good considering what the prices of these were originally.

Sprint has a promotion until the end of March where customers can activate new service with a 2 year contract and after a $50.00 mail in rebate and get the (RED) Motorola RAZR V3m for $9.99, the gun metal colored Motorola RAZR V3m for FREE. Our Motorola Q is $30.00 less expensive than the Verizon Wireless version and our feature packed data package is $25.00 per month and we allow streaming media like music and video.

Crappy reception and even crappier phones. That, and they cripple their phones almost as badly as Verizon does.

How does Sprint cripple their phones as you stated? As far as reception is concerned, did you have your phone set for Sprint Only or Automatic? What type of phone did you have? Did you go to www.sprint.com/coverage to view the Sprint network in particular areas or call our Customer Care so a network engineer could invetigate the issue?

That's part of it. It's just not as atrong as Verizon's network. That, and the OBEX feature is crippled on a lot of their phones (v3m, KRZR, SLVR, Fusic {but not as badly, though}). Sprint told me that Motorola locks the bluetooth OBEX on their phones; but if that's the case, why aren't Alltel's Motorola phones locked? Sprint reps have no idea what they're talking about.

do ya know how many towers that verizon uses that are sprint towers not knowing they belong to sprint? and about bluetooth its not just motorola, its pretty much all of our phones. bluetooth are restricted to headset or picture transfer, granted some phones can transfer full songs, you cant put them as ringers. i know,i know but its a company trying to keep every profit they can, believe me i was affected by that, by them cutting jobs and lost my friend/assistant manager, but hey that another story.

ray, please. Whenever I've ATTEMPTED to rectify a problem with roaming (yes, automatic) or wit the plain CRAPPY service I get in rural areas (where I live) I am always told that "sprint has reception there, it's your phone. You have to get an update on your phone. I would call in to CS, and if I had to call back twice b/c the rep was illiterate/ignorant/stupid, I would have an "update" done to my phone EACH time I called. How's that for powering up?

As for the network coverage, I noticed a significant change in their purported coverage recently on the website. Of course, the ACTUAL coverage is still . . . what Sprint is notorious for 👿

I work in wireless; I know how to resolve issues. Mine haven't been resolved, but I'm ...

How a network's performance is viewed by customer's has quite a bit to do based on how well the marketing spins it. If you notice the Verizon Wireless ads on tv, the majority of them only concern themselves with the network quality and doesn't address the products and services like they don't have an unlimited text message package nor have a truly unlimited data package or allow their customers to have free wireless call after 7pm. Why should a customer choose Verizon Wireless?

correction, motorola q at verizon is now 79.99 after advanced device promotions and rebate. even cheaper than you thought. why should you chose verizon especailly over sprint? the customer service and network. sure we don't have unlimited text or anything, but what good is unlimited text if your phone doesn't have service to begin with. there are many reasons why so many more people chose verizon over sprint. last quater spring reported losing a quater of a million customers, verizon add 2.1 million post pay customers and .2 million pre pay customers, brining us just under a million customers under at&t. the choice is up to you.
