Truce!!!

raycarroll70

I would like to ask for a cease fire and squash all the eveyone hates Ray forum thread posts. I'll concede I have be more gentle, less Gregory Houseish and tempered in how I response to forum members asking questions related to various Sprint products and services as well as anticipated wireless devices. In essence, I'm asking for forgiveness from those willing to grant it.

this isn't an "i hate ray" post, you seem like a pretty resonable and nice guy, just a bit overbearing sometimes and you need to thin of the way people view us as a whole in wireless. people already view us as scam artists who will screw anyone over for a buck, you coming on here guns blazing like that just gives them more of a reason to hate and not trust us is all, i wasn't anything against you, just your tactics

That's a pretty good show. And pretty good analogy. He doesn't care how what he says hurts people, he just says things. But to his credit, it's usually something that is true, or will eventually help the person, but it still hurts.

no need for a truce, the wireless slate per say is easily wiped clean. Noone will remember what you post last month. Just post consistent read-worthy posts.

Personally I don't think your capable of it, I don't think I have ever read a post worthy of reading.

Nextel18 was gone and everyone noticed when he came back, b/c everyone loves reading his posts, because he has something valuable to say and worth reading.

We don't hate you b/c of what you say, your online you can say what you want, we hate you b/c your a waste of time, your posts have no value and clears off the things that do have something meaningful.

My "truce" terms - Post meaningful posts in this forum, and noone will give you crap, if you want to rant, or basical...

Furthermore, what's the purpose of a truse when your gonna lay a little lower in the threads but still act like an A$$ in your actions.

So maybe you'll go a little easier in your posting habits, but you'll still be running to corpoate security for every infringement you perceive of the "Extreme Integrity Policy" that you've posted all over this forum about.

SO you're telling us you'll become even worse, a lurker snitch. You made it clear to all who you are and what you're about, now you have to sleep in the bed you made and now you want a softer mattress. Poor Ray 🤣

Also, you never answered the question I have asked you on multiple occasions...

How does releasing launch info hurt Sprint's bottom line? The reason I ask is that is the only "internal" info I have ever posted here.

P.S. On the show House, the doctor you speak of is known for bending the "rules" if it can benefit his patients (in our case, our customers). In this case I feel that bending the rules by releasing launch info and details on unreleased devices does nothing but benefit our customers. It helps them make the right decision in the devices they make plans to pu...

hi all i am new to this forum but i recently joined just for the simple fact that ray has aggravated me enough to say something. it is clear that ray is on an authority power trip on here and talks to ppl in a manner that is very unwelcome in our industry. i am definitely sure that you DO NOT talk to ppl like that when they come into your store asking about a phone and when it is coming out. as a matter of fact, what is the difference when a person asks on here the same question they ask you in the store??? do you tell them the same BS saying that you could lose your job by telling then anything about the nature of that product or its release date or do you excite the person and let them know that you believe it will be here in a couple wee...

If this is the post you were speaking about, it still doesn't answer my question. My question was what is the FINANCIAL impact of leaked device/launch info on a carrier. That was the point of Ray's contention, so that's the question I'm looking to have answered. I think he is ignoring my requests because he doesn't have an answer...

...or maybe you are speaking of the Osbourne (sp) effect, in which case, in my opinion, consumers don't need to be told that something better is coming out in the near future, it's cyclical and a given in technology. Consumers buy things, next week something better is out and then they want that. That's just progress marching forward. Re...

That's what I'm talking about.... I don't think it has that much impact, but all the carriers do, and the few times that it has worked it worked spectacularly.

Excitement and Anticipation are great if the product is up to the challenge or doesn't get cancelled during testing, then the carriers just look like idiots for announcing something that is never coming out.

Like I said, I don't believe this stuff, it just exists, and it's what the carriers all quote when they don't want to release info.

I'm curious, what instances are you reffering to? (not trying to argue, just wondering.)

I realize that, however, he may not know the answer, but there is one. Not that I agree with the reasoning, but the question has been answered. Ray has annoyed the crappy poo poo out of me, as well, but life is too short to give someone like that any control over my emotions long enough for me to think about it twice. Let it go already.

Meh. Lack of a response just shows cowardice and lack of knowledge on the policies he claims to uphold. That will do just fine. Finishing the argument or making my point by showing that he has no idea why he believes what he does, either way I win!!! 😉

well i think carriers like to keep it secret so custies will come in and buy a phone then see the new one thats out after their return date and then try to convince them its better than the one they have and get them to buy it outright, but thats just my opinion since i believe these cell companies only care about money 😡

There's nothing wrong junglemassive about mentioning upcoming launchs of Sprint products and services once a PR is issued. I just don't believe in telling customers or potential ones a firm release date on something just because someone in our higher up R&D department can very well squash it like a Mississippi Mud Dog slapping down on a Coon and if we build up the excitment like this to customers, how do you think they'll feel when we fail to deliver? Stirring up excitement for a new Sprint product and/or service junglemassive is an excellent idea and a great way to actually increase the bottom dollar when customers and potential ones storm in for them as long as we do so carefully and stay within our guidelines. Legal and marketing do what...

I really wanted a good laugh at his response to me, but alas, I think he realized he was outdone.

Btw, I'm only really responding to goad him into replying and personally find these type of threads as nothing more than staged attempts to garnish some semblance of attention.

Hey All,
Does this mean I'm not allowed to talk about all the super cool unannounced upcoming handsets I saw the other day at the Sprint Sponsered handset Vendor Fair.I dont remember the reps from Samsung, Sanyo, LG, or Motorola swearing me to secrecy about the goings on in that all day meeting. I did see my next phone, which is a way cool music phone from Samsung. If anybody would like to know, I'll talk tomorrow morning, cuz its 8:00 and time to go.
Cheers. 👀

If it was at a Sprint sponsored event for the various wireless handset vendors SiestaRandy, then I'm pretty sure it had already been cleared through the legal as well as marketing departments just as anything shown at the upcoming CITA Wireless 2007 Convention being held in a few days in Orlando, FL. I'm excited to see what goodies shall be unfolding for us.

Where do you think I get most of my info on release dates and device details??? I go to EVERY vendor show that comes to my area! I also take notes on devices, model numbers, release dates (however tentative), and key features. Just goes to show why you should bite your toungue before you start spewing corporate BS. Here's a hint, leave corporate security to,

wait for it,
