I purchased a pc card and unlimited data plan (just for my first 30 days). I was very skeptical about signing up with Sprint because of a bad past experience but now I can see that I made the right choice. Coverage and signal strength with my Pantech pc card has been great. The speed is great also and I think I got the best value. I am a Cingular customer but chose to give Sprint a try and I do not regret my decision. For one, Sprint has a better price. At my 39.99 price point, I get 40MB but with Cingular they only offer 20MB. For two, Sprint has more areas covered, even in little old Bryan/College Station where I spend my holidays. VZW was not even an option because of the restricted use of the unlimited plan plus when I had VZW 8 ...

Most excellent. Glad to hear it. Hopefully the tarnished image of Sprint will soon be gone. I have faith.

sprint sucks! HAHA! Just you wait! ON the 31st day something bad will happen!!!
...
whatever I am over 5 yrs with them with no problems the entire time!
...
i agree plus they have good phones!
...
I have nextel, but ported from sprint, and i never had any problems with sprint.

A little suggestion for you and it is a very nice summary of your review; however, you should have purchased either a Novatel Wireless or Sierra Wireless because frankly they do better than Pantech. If you can exchange the cards, do so.

Mainly because of the capability to upgrade to Rev A. I didn't even think of that.
The Novatel S720 is a very good card. We just launched (or are launching VERY soon) Rev A in I think 5 more markets.
...
The 500 DOES have RevA.
As of right now, its the only one in stores that does.

He didn't mention any model numbers, so...my bad.
...
Yes that card is very good. (I have that card on some of my laptops and the rest of the laptops have Sierra Wireless' devices.
...
I took your advice and that is the one that I asked for but they did not have any in stock. I called multiple stores and no one had any. Before my 30 day trial is up, I am going to stop back by the store and hopefully they have some in stock. But on the other hand, the Pantech has performed very well. Everytime I have popped it into my laptop, I have had 5 bars, nothing less, which shocked the hell out of me.
...
Well Pantech’s are good but the Sierra and Novatel Wireless’ cards are very good. I would do everything possible to switch. I would try to see if you could either call tele sales or get the device online as an exchange for the one you have now. They have to have the newer devices in stock. (REV A capable ones of course)
...
Actually, if you check the known issues web page the Novatel cards have WAY more software and hardware issues than the Pantech card. I have been using the Pantech card for a couple of months now and I have had ZERO issues with the performance of this card. I have also sold this card to many, many people and have not had one come back with performance issues. nextel18, you might have got a bad batch or something because my experience with the Pantech card has been nothing but positive. Just my two cents. 😁
...
Yea, it comes w. the leather case for it too. I have had the Merlin S620 and UT Starcom 57XX? The Pantech has performed head over heels better. I have to go w. JM on this one.
...
Yeah, it seems silly but the leather case is a sweet perk of the Pantech card also. 🙂
...
It definitely sets it apart in my opinion.
...
That is ok; I do not deal with Starcom but with my experiences with the three other companies, NVTL and SWIR outperform Pantech in every way shape and form. I doubt it is the bad batch because I usually get it before they launch and then after they launch.
...
I have been dealing with Sierra and Novatel for quite some time now and I have had no problems what so ever and when I had my pantech devices, they were very horrible.
...
i have to agree....my phone works every where unless i venture out in the woods which i'm not going to do....i used to be with verizon but they have no good phones....i am very happy with sprint and i like how i can upload my pictures to my webpage....pretty cool....i feel like verizon is for old people who aren't tech savy

Just came back from out of town and have to praise my Pantech pc card and great Sprint service. While in the Bryan/College Station area, I received great hi-speed service. Once again, my connection manager held 4 to 5 bars my entire stay. I really think Sprint has something good here and if more people try it, they definitely will get past the bad perception because I am a believer now. This is making me think of maybe switching my voice plan over when my contract is up 😁
...
I've sold a couple of the voice cards and people have LOVED THEM! I can also say I have been a Sprint customer for 10 years now. I have had a couple of issues and customer service was not the most pleasant, but the stuff did get fixed and I usually found a decent operator or two to speak with. I am techy and gadgety and love the fast internet and extensive features on the phones. Plus, as you say, I never have an issue with service! Honestly, when customers come up and complain about their service, I just get lost because I don't have that issue. I try telling them to upgrade their phone, and usually if they listen it fixes the problem.
I do wish some of the operators would go to charm school though. Or at least customer service 101. ...

That's one of the top priorities right now, guarantee you.

I have now heard this from multiple people and that is fabulous. I hear more people leaving Sprint over customer service than anything else.
