"Additional PCS Service" What's available?

Does anyone know if this is a network built by Sprint themselves, it's supposed to be an additional digital service area, so I take it a Sprint phone would not say "roaming" if in one of these coverage areas.

According to the map legend at Sprint, you cannot get on Vision in one of those covered areas. Any more info, or maybe Sprint is in the process of putting CDMA into iDEN only service areas.

Thanks.

Digital roam. Usually shared towers or contracts with verizon, alltel, etc. It's more complicated than that but thats the gist.

I heard that Sprint and VZW broke off their roaming agreements.

I've also seen VZW PRL's dropping Sprint towers, but Sprint phones can still be forced to roam on VZW's towers..any ideas?
