sprint wishes to maintain the highest Laval of innovation in it's network and as a result it does not allow any out side esn's on it's network. also sprint uses this a a security precaution. then of course there are all sorts of back network side issues with phones. not all phones are compatible with all networks. in the end sprint saves a lot money this way.
