another big advantage of sprint in my opinion is that they don't "cripple" their handsets as much, they give you so much more freedom to do things on it.

And yeah like you mention, I choose JAVA over BREW anytime! much more compatible with cool applications and downloads.

Sprint has better plans for less money.

(1) Laze targets for guided missiles.
(2) They can float.
(3) They talk.

That's about it... I'm sorry, that was too broad a question. I would say a lot of what makes the phone better is because of the carrier. Does VZW give you the option to decide you're 'roaming settings' on your handheld? I know SPCS phones have an option on the menu to toggle between auto, roam only, etc.

IMO SPCS' offerings as far as streaming go is much better than VZW's vCast but I'm sure that will change in time...

I'm not gonna lie to you, customer service really sucks, been with sprint for around 6 years now.

Texting I definitelly agree, Fair and flexible plans are awesome, never had a problem with reception. Phone selection is "ok", I think they could do better. Every other carrier is coming up with cooler phones.

One thing that bothers me about sprint is that you have to be on your current handset for about I think 14 or 16 consecutive months, to be eligible for a phone upgrade and this resets every time you place a hanset on the account, even if you bought it straight out without discounts.

Not sure what else you are looking for specifically

thanks for the honest input. I cant find any phone on verizons network that is cooler then the samsung 920 or the blade. the samsung UI is awesome, not tampered with.

...and you know, a lot of that customer service is poor crap is really over-exaggerated... Granted, they make a TON of billing mistakes. Especially if you have combined billing with local/LD & dish network, etc. But when you call they are very apologetic and it's not like they yell at you and say it's your fault the billing is screwed up.

No one in Customer service helps unless you threaten to cancel. You tell them a problem you are having and they say "OK, do you want to add N&W at 6 and extend your agreement?" and then I have to say "No, because that has absolutely nothing to do with why I called" and then you'll tell them the problem again and they'll say the same thing, the only time I have had good customer service is when you speak to people higher up in the ladder -- supervisor or maybe a cancellation rep. There is a reason why Sprint constantly ranks near the bottom in CS. I just deal with it because I have a retention plan for 750 nationwide anytime mins for $38, good enough phone service, and they are ahead of some of the other companies when it comes to technology....

Well for me:

customer service has been very good, and I've never had a problem with my bill...at least not yet...I hope I don't lol.

Option of nights starting at 6pm helps greatly even though it's $10 extra per month.

If you have more than one line and have optional features like text, vision etc...it's only a partial charge for the second line, not the full cost.

You can actually switch the roaming profile on both sprint phones and verizon phones, you just have to get into the programming mode on a vzw phone by pressing "menu", "0", and then the code which I believe is either "0000" or "1234" (can't remember). Sprint just has it as an open option. I've used it once or twice myself.

I've had good reception everywhere I've ...
