Sprint coverage question

I'm with Verizon now but I'm thinking about switching to Sprint since I like Sprint's phone (better selection and more functionality) but I'm worried about Sprint's system coverage. I checked they're coverage maps for the areas I spent time in (NC and KY) but I spent a good deal of time away from major cities and highways where it look s like coverage may be sparse or that I may be roaming. Can anyone verify this is accurate or not?

Thanks,
Mark O.

Any fair and flex plan over 200 minutes gives you coverage anywhere in the us with no roaming. this does not mean that you will be on sprint network but you can still use your phone with no additional fees. this is the same thing verizon and cingular do. the difference is sprint actually shows where their network is. if you want a more accurate view of the others true network look at the coverage on their prepaid plans. hope this helps.

in addition to what packer said, i wanted to add my 2 cents.

usually coverage is better away from the highways with sprint. (i mean usually, this can differ from other markets) usually in suburbs, the coverage is quite good and the city well its very good.

you can also take advantage of those trial periods that they have to see if infact the coverage is very good where you are. all we can do is look at our database and tell you if there is coverage or not, but it is up to you to actually try it.

hoep that helps..

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to give them a shot once my current contract with Verizon runs out.

I currently have nextel, sprint, and verizon. had tmobile 2 years ago. My verizon gets better signal than my sprint. I would rate my coverage in this order:

verizon, sprint, nextel, tmobile.

ps I work for sprint. Kansas city world HQ. Take it how you wish.
