Wow. When Cingular bought ATTWS, I said "Wow, now its on". Of course we all knew the CIngular-Verizon dual would start, but I thought Sprint and Nextel would just fade away into misery. Who would have thought that Sprint and Nextel would join into some disastrous partnership and go down into misery together???!!! What a disaster, good luck folks. I cant even begin to tell you how many ports over from Sprint or Nextel we (Cingular) have had since your merger/acquistion was announced. Good Luck.

Makes up for all the people leaving Cingular and going to Sprint. 24% discount sounds nice, but actual coverage in my area when Cingular can't get their towers fixed, now that's priceless. Too bad Cingular's being a butt about the whole thing and holding me until I pay them $50 ETF on each line. Kind of lame. I'm going to call and offer their lost profit, which is all they can legally hold me for. Penatlies aren't enforceable.

Penalties arent enforceable until you go to get a mortgage, and **WHACK!!!**, a written off cell phone bill throws a monkey wrench in the whole thing.

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about. It's going to take time and money to get them out of my life, and them being butts about it is just really making me not want to come back. My discount is with work, and it's a job while I was in high school and college. I should be looking for a new job in about a year or so, and may not get a discount from them. Also, hopefully, Cingular would've fixed their towers in my area or probably have it really wide spread by then. That's why I was planning on going back, after my 2 years with Sprint.

I really liked Cingular, but, their customer service and attitude is really starting to get to me. I'm sure Sprint would do the same thing, but, Cingular doing that, along with terrible reception just fi...

ok, this makes no sense. If you been with cingular even a decent amount of time, then you would know that sprint and cingular swap customers like horney teenagers swap spit.

And don't try and tell me you know more about cingular. All you have to do it read into the numbers and see whats going on with your customer base. I can't begin to count how many nay-sayers there were when we all heard about the Orange and Blue merger. people were freaking out within the comapny from the day they heard it was gonna happen. Sprint and Nextel, like all other mergers will have its snags, but i think it may work itself out.

We own 5 stores going on 6. On an average day each store ports at least 3-4 numbers over from Cing to Sprint. New activations are at an all time high in my market with few de-acts. well, except for those people who refuse to pay their bill. Sprint is doing very well. According to ConsumerReports.Org Cing has the most deacts and highest complaints in the industry. 😁

It's funny because Sprint's new activations and port-ins jumped a huge amount after the merger. My theory is that it's all going to settle down and everything's going to go back to the way it was. This is a very fickle industry, and people are liable to change carriers on a whim. You'd be amazed how many people I've talked to who tell me that they used to have sprint accounts, then they left and went to cingular or verizon, and decided they wanted to come back to sprint. Sprint is going to be just fine.

Very true, my father being one of them. For him it's because no carrier carries a phone with the durability and reliability of the Sanyos.

I personally feel that Sprint has superb prospects. They have more business customers than anyone else. And they make cash off of regional providers borrowing off of their towers. Qwest comes to mind, as well as ESPN Mobile. And they have exclusive rights to the NFL broadcasts. Time Warner, Cox, and Comcast are all checking out doing the Qwest thing and borrowing towers with Sprint. They also have WiMAX (or whatever it is) coming out soon and they also have decent coverage. As well as selling phones with the highest customer satisfaction (Sanyo's). And they offer Fair & Flexable.
There is quite a lot to be envied. And I'm with Cingular. Sprint and Cingular appear to be the best value on the market today. And sprint is the best st...

yeah and now those idiots you ported are pissed cuz the phone doesnt even work as well as sprint's!!! WHAT A BONEHEAD MOVE BY CINGY IN THEIR BUYOUT!!! all those idiots did was buy at&t's CUSTOMERS!! didnt even expand the SERVICE AREA (which most EDUCATED people would call, um, IMPORTANT!)I guess we'll call it a wash because I switch approximately 2-3 US Military a week from Cingy to Sprint cuz GSM service is limited on military installations. Take yo dumb azz back to the cingy thread.

How can there be a negative effect if there are no network changes? Nothing changed for either Sprint or Nextel customers. The integration of the networks will be seamless and slow. Also keep in mind that together with Nextel, Sprint owns more spectrum than anyone else does. If you want to talk ports are you talking about 20-25? How about the million that bailed an the failed ATTWS? Or the ports that we do from Cingular to Sprint? We can all play that game. I work for a company that offers multiple carriers. Ports from one to another are common. There are always people who are looking for greener grass. Put it into perspective, Cingular's and Sprint's churn rates in the second quarter were identical. Both carriers improved a lot in this area...
