Why is premium data charge of $10 required on non 4G smartphones? Evil or Very Mad

Oct 23, 2011, 4:05 PM
Because people who buy "dumbphones" don't spend beaux coups of time downloading apps & streaming videos from the internet. How many people do you know who do? I personally think that Blackberries should be exempt since they use their own servers & compress data, but I suppose Apple & Android would cry foul if they were exempted?

You are exactly right, Android and Apple would want to know why Sprint would classify a Blackberry as a "smartphone" but not charge it for the smartphone premium data
