Samsung Moment has gone as far up the Android ladder as it can go. There will be no Froyo for that device which basically means it is time for Sprint to find a new mid-range Android slider to add to its lineup. The Samsung Intercept (SPH-M910) will be that new model. In fact, when we first reported on the SPH-M910, we called it the Moment 2. Expected to launch on July 12th with Android 2.1 on board, a upgrade to 2.2 is a "high probability". With a 3.2 inch touchscreen, the Intercept won't make you forget the Epic 4G, but as a messaging device, it has exactly what you need. The handset features quick access to social networking sites like Facebook and Google's Voice Search will let you read out e-mails, texts and Facebook posts. Also featured...

$199.99 w/ $100 MIR on a 2 year service agreement.

Thales
...
but why get that when you could get the evo for the same price.
...
Most likely is wont have that $10.00 premium data fee some people are complaining about that the Evo requires.
...
it wont since it isnt a 4g but i would still rather pay the extra $10 and have a much better phone over all.
...
Much better phone over all= Epic 4G
...
the epic is a better phone but its not hd so i would still go with the evo over the moment 2, hero 2 and the epic.
...
Well it's got that awesome Super AMOLED display, that should count for something.
...
😕 whats so special about AMOLED?
...
Super AMOLED is way bright, and 30% more energy efficient. It is also more readable than most current screen technologies.
...
If I wasn't under contract with my Moto Droid I'd get me a Samsung Epic 4G! But I'm happy with my Droid.
...
well yall got the droid x coming 🤤 that will be vzs version of the evo but the problem i still have with virizon is the price of the plans and no 4g.
...
I get what your saying. And Verizon's network isn't as great as their 'marketing' makes them out to be. My Droid does drop from 3G to 1x sometimes. I was with AT&T for just over 8yrs and their network isn't anywhere close to as bad as a lot make it out to be.
But anyway, yeah that $69.99 plan Sprint has is indeed very enticing!!! Who knows maybe I'll switch over to Sprint when my contract is up with Verizon. See who has the latest & greatest version of the Epic 4G when my contract is up.
...
if you do switch tell them that you work for welsfargo, citi bank or u.p.s. and you will get a 27% discount. they say that they check it but they dont. i work in sprint cc and thats why i know.
...
So it's that easy, huh? Just say? They don't ask to see a paystub?
...
nope they say they will verify it but they dont and after about a week it will be applied. you would think they would ask for a check stub or some type of verification but all they ask for is your email.
...
Well, hope it's that easy to get away with when my contract is up. I'm just now mid-shift!!! Today is my Friday, yay!!!
...
ah your lucky. its my thursday and i still have 8hrs left 🙄
...
Oh so you just started your shift? I get off @ 2pm pst.
I'm trying to hold off 1 more hr before eating lunch.
Slow news day on Phone Scoop 😢
...
ive been here since 830 and yeah its a slow news day on ps. thats why i go back and forth in between ps, engadget and phone arena in links to the left.
...
I've got an Engadget widget on one of my Droids homescreens, so I can get a preview of the headlines.
What about Android Central? You ever check that website out? They also do a weekly podcast.
...
im firewalled and it wont let me check it out. ive heard about it but cant get to it.
...
Ooohhh tough life!!! Evil firewalls! Communism!
But appearently Phone Scoop is ok though, huh?
...
😕 yeah and the others that i mentioned. i doesn't make sense to me but it does to them 🙄
...
Maybe the control freaks consider Phone Scoop a resource for looking up different features of different phones, and comparing. And they think that it's useful for you employees.
...
not to many people no about ps up until recently were im at. i just got in trouble for being on here during a call but the ones that do know about ps will admit that it is very useful.
...
I'm not am employee in the wireless industry. Just a cellphone enthusiast. I found out about Phone Scoop about 5yrs ago from a Best Buy employee.
...
ah i see. i only no about it because i came across it in my tools other wise i would never know about it.
...
So your saying in your computer software as a Sprint CSR there are tools that refer you to Phone Scoop?
...
yup its called competitor websites. the name says it all but ps is in the options to.
...
idk why its set up like that because ps is a tool not a competitor. when i get a chance ill check it out. is the phone any different then the epic(galaxy) that sprint is about to get?
...

These are the rumored specs of the Samsung Galaxy S2.
Freaking mind blowing specs!!!
The S2 is set to launch in early 2011 and packs some serious heat. Rumored features of the Samsung Galaxy S2 include: 4.3-inch touchscreen 1280×720 Resolution 1GB of RAM 4GB of ROM 32GB of built-in storage 2GHz processor 8-megapixel camera Bluetooth 3.0 WiFi up to N Accelerometer with Gyroscope Android 3.0? 1080p HD capable?
...
😳 wow. have they said what carrier is gonna get it?
...
Well if the first Samsung Galaxy S is any indication, probably all carriers. I'm just kinda surprised it's coming out in 'early 2011' and not June to compete with the Iphone 5.
Consumers really, really need to learn that there are other smartphones out there other than the IPhone.
...
consumers know now with android stepping up.
...
We'll really know how much progress Android has made against the Iphone next June when the next Iphone comes out. See how this whole antenna debacle effects Apples reputation.
In time Iphone 3GS & Iphone 4 owners will begin being aware of Android, and all of the things it can do that Iphone can't. All the hardware capabilities like HDMI outputs, 4.3in screens, and carriers like Sprint & Verizon having 4G while ATT won't.
...
very true. i think android is in the process of knocking apple of that pedestal that they have been on for so long.
...
Yep, it began with the Evo 4G, and Android marches on with the Droid X, all the Galaxy S's, and soon the Epic 4G, Android marches on!!! 😛
I've got just under an hr left in my shift! 😁
...
🤣 😎 yeah i just heard that we get to get off early and since i have nightshift we never get that. so im gonna take the chance if i get it.
...
Night shift? What time zone are you in?
...
im in kansas so central. they have my team labled as night due to the fact that we leave at 815.
...
Ah, KC, Sprint's HQ city.
I live in Las Vegas, but am originally from Connecticut.
...
yup im about 45 minutes away from the HQ.
...
No real/physical keyboard on the Evo, whereas the Intercept & Epic have a real/physical keyboard.
...
i agree with that but as long as its a solid touchscreen then it shouldn't matter. now if the on screen keyboard lags like the instinct then yeah i would want a physical keyboard but thats not the case.
...
OK OK OK The Samsung INTERCEPT, not moment 2, has no intentions of being a moment 2. Thats what the epic is for. The Samsung EPIC is a revamped MOMENT. Look at the intercept as a revamped instinct 🙂.
...
no this is the moment 2. they had to do a upgrade due to the fact that the moment and hero and get the newest android updates. i work for sprint cc. i know this for sure and soon the hero 2 will come out. epic is the 2nd 4g device that will be released.
