Customer Service - Store vs. Phone

I am going to go ahead and try to redo my 7 year old plan. (Some of you may remember me from a week ago and my bad quote "issue").

I am kinda hoping to change to the Family Message plan. 1500 minutes is way overkill (only use 220 max per month). What is the chance that they would throw in data on one line?

Am I best off going into a Sprint location, or calling on the phone?

If I go in do I talk to anyone in particular or just the regular counter guy?

If I call do I speak with the retention dept., or just any customer service person?

I am also a credit union member. Who and where do I make the contact for that?

Thanks for your help!

the plan is the plan. sorry but they are not going to just give you data on one line because you say you're not going to use all your minutes

I see how my wording inferred that. I am not really that concerned with the "data", I just want to change my plan fairly. I have been misquoted several times and want to make sure whoever I talk to is knowledgable and the final say.

I know the plans are listed on the web, but have received many other prices from Sprint and I don't want my pricing reversed or overridden.

I am really seeking out who is more knowledgable and official, store or phone.

Sidenote though - through a chat they told me that adding data should not be a problem, but am not sure if that is true.

I recommend that if you are doing account maintenance things only, such as a plan change, just call customer care, you are wasting gas and time going to the store. The plans as stated before, are what they are and are listed descriptively online, so no misquotings can take place. If for some reason you can get "free" data which is extremely unlikely, that will definitely not happen at the store level, the slim chance there is exists only through customer care. If you require services that require new equipment, go to the store.

You should do it over the phone or via ecare (online chat or email) unless you are buying phones from the store at the same time.

its not gonna matter if you go into a store or call care, the price plans are all the same. and since yours is 7 years old, it is time to change it! there is a better deal out there 😲

you can add data to that plan, its $15 per line for basic vision and another 10 if you want nav and some other extras.

you should have talked to someone about that credit union discount along time ago.

I know I should have checked on the credit union thing! Up til now I was always happy and never bothered to check for new plans or for better pricing. I still have my original Free & Clear Plan.

I probably could have saved a bundle over these last years.

actually if you are on a 1500 unlimited messaging plan for the family you cannot add the 15 dollar internet package. already went down that rode with a customer and tried to do it in RMS, through sales support and customer retention. it cannot be done. you would have to go onto the 1500 data plan for the family. sorry. you other people need to do your research or something (training!!!). you say the plan is the plan but again are misquoting this guy. no wonder he is so confused.

Actually you may need some training. Any regular phone, or Palm or Windows PDA you can add the $15 data plan on the 1500 message. The only phones that require the 1500 data share plan are the blackberries or the instinct.

hopefully by now you have figured out that you are wrong and that you can add internet to the 1500 message share plan...
