I noticed that, too.

I wonder if Sprint will do a firmware upgrade on either model to allow 850 mhz roaming?

WE DO HAVE THEM BACK....LIKELY LIMITED TIME THOUGH. As far as it looks.....since sprint and nextel merged.....they have progressively gotten systems and networks closer. Right now we have various types of devices, the Nextel that works soley on the iDEN network, the Sprint *(w/o the Direct Connect *DC) solely on the CDMA, then the hybrid or powersource phones that use the iDEN network for DC but the CDMA for voice. Well now the launch of 5 more devices came out. These devices do work solely on the CDMA network and they do have the DC that is now on the CDMA. WARNINNG: IF YOU HAVE DC ON iDEN AND DO NOT WISH TO CHANGE YOUR # FOR DC SERVICE......DO NOT EVEN ACTIVATE ONE OF THESE DEVICES ON YOUR LINE. YOU WILL LOSE YOUR DC #. You can tell the ...

You can definetely keep you DC number from IDEN. I work for Sprint Employee Accounts, so we get trained very early for new test equipment for our Sprint Ambassador program and we activated them and never had a problem, if the customer wanted to keep their DC number. The only important thing to remember is, if the customer ever swaps to another all CDMA device without DC, then they will lose the DC number due to the system will recognize the subscription as CDMA only. The only way to get it back is to submit a clickit and then email another department for escalation as soon as the ticket is dispatched. See KMS.
