Hi guys I'm completing a first responder course and soon will be joining a search and rescue school. I need a Nextel phone.
I'm looking at my plan options and want to clarify my understanding of them, and ask for any helpful input.

The first plan I see is a Sprint Basic plan which include 200 minutes for $29.99 plus an additional $10.00 for DC and another additional $10.00 for 6 pm nights...so for 50 bucks plus taxes I should have a bill for around 60.00. My questions is does the 10.00 includes unlimited mobile to mobile all DC users?? Correct?

I see another plan called 'Talk' where I get 450 minutes for $39.99 with Unlimited mobile to mobile now is that for DC only? or does it include unlimited DC and talk? And it look like I still h...

What you can do is the 450 talk/message/connect plan for $49.99 it includes 450 minutes nights at 7, unlimited text, picture, video messaging, unlimited direct connect, mobile to mobile, no roaming charges and nation wide coverage. Employer discounts also do apply.

I think this plan will do much better for you, if you would like nights at 6 there is a $5 buyup that would also qualify for the discounts.

Thank you very much! That is perfect!

since you're so helpful would you care to comment on my Nextel phone choice. I want to go with the Motorola i580. Do you think that's a good choice?

The i580 is a great phone, very durable and loud. The sound quality on it is amazing. There is also a new phone that is out it is called the Sanyo Pro700, it has the best of both worlds. It runs off the cdma calling network that Sprint uses and has the iden network which controls the nextel direct connect. It is also upto military standards. I have only had the phone in for two weeks and have been selling them like hotcakes.

Great sounds like I made the right choice then! I want a true Nextel phone because that's what everyone else will have, noone seems to want to get a qchat phone in my group. They all like the nextel phones. Thank you!

sorry, but its not a hybrid phone and does not use the iden network, it uses sprint network only while using q-chat to talk cross channel with nextel. so i would tell rambo to use the nextel phone he has chosen first cause if there is no evdo coverage the sanyo pro will not be able to chat with nextel.
