I have serious doubts of the new qchats phones selling very well. Most die hard nextel customers will not want them, and the rest are waiting for their contracts to end so they can go to verizon and att. Sprint just needs to sell of Nextel so it can live forever, if not I'm afraid the very high churn numbers will continue.

ok, though I know you're a troll, I'll respond as if I didn't know any better:

I think the Q Chat will sell quite well, provided they can prove that the direct connect is the same quality as the Nextels have been. One big draw on these phones is that they're all rugged phones, which Sprint doesn't currently offer, so there's one whle demographic right there.

Also, I don't think the "die-hard" Nextel customers are waiting to go to Vzw or At&t, since they die hards RELY on PTT. And let's be honest, no one has PTT that can even touch Nextel.

verizon has a new ptt phone coming out, i bet a bunch of churn will go with verizon. they have a waterproof ptt phone coming to market that works on reva too, called brew chat which they will heavily market. so since iden is going to be dead we will all be on the same playing field. i agree with cellenator the churn will continue because sprint is doing horrible with taking care of their customers.

the problem with VZW launching their new (hopefully improved) PTT service, is who's going to be using it? people that need PTT have nextel or something that's compatible with it.

but nextel has lost millions of customers and verizon can easily capture a lot of that churn, that is why they're releasing their new ptt.

if nextel was the end all i don't think millions would leave.

either way sprint can not execute anything very well, ppl will either stick with nextel until its death or port away..and once they see verizon the most reliable network adverting they will get alot of the fleeing customers.

Have you ever even used Verizon's two way? It's absolutely horrible! Not just bashing, but in all honesty the lag on those frustrate too many, look what happened to Amp'd. They used V-Dub's two way and it didn't help them from going under. Plus consider Boost, millions of dollars of profit, now being able to connect to them too. Think about it

yeah verizon first attempt at ptt was a joke..but sprints new chat looks like it will work very well. i have seen the youtuble video like most of you....and verizon is going to be using the same platform...reva and brew chat. So sprint really need to execute on transferring those die hard nextel customers over. they got to do better then commercials like Dan walking down the street. they need to offer big incentive to that group of ppl, or else the larger churn will cotinue....and verizon will capitalize with their soon to be released massive ad campaign.

I agree that there are customers leaving Nextel... anyone can see that. But you mentioned the die-hards, and they're not going anywhere.

they will in 2012 when iden is shut down, and hopefully sprint can convince them that qhat is the answer..if not verizon will.
