if my phone is shut off for non-payment? i was without a job for awhile so the cell was the first thing that i didnt pay. bills piled up and i never paid them. but what my question is, does my contract end date change since my service isnt active?
basically i just want to know if i can wait til my contract is up and then pay the bill and leave without an ETF and without having a monthly bill between now and then. i'm fine with the $5/mo late charge, i can handle that. but even the $39.99 plan im on i cant afford right now and i def cant pay a $175 ETF

If you let that phone bill stay upaid you will automatically be charged an early termination fee. There is a basic $29.99 plan to drop it to. Also if you haven't made it 6 months into that contract, you will probably be charged for the non-discounted price of the phone. In other words if you got a KatanaII for free, you will be charged $249.99+tax for the phone as well. The reason is you accepted promotional pricing on the phone as a condition of signing the 2 year contract.

the best thing to do is call sprint and "halt" service. I think you can do this for three month, and yes, it does change your end of contract date.

the best you can do is to pay past due and change to $5.95 seasonal plan you can have it like this for 6 months then it turns automatically to a standard plan (last active) your agreement freezes

i was under contract for over a year before i stopped paying the bill. and about 2 months ago i did pay some of the bill off and they turned my service back on. well the whole story was, they sent me a letter saying that if i turned my service back on they would give me a $20 credit off my bill, but what they didnt tell me is that they were going to charge me $20 to turn it back on, how toughtful. once they turned my phone on i told them i needed access to the sprint website to pay my bill cuz the nearest store was 30 min away and i dont give CC info over the phone for payments. well guess what, they never gave me online access back so they never got paid. they charged me the full months rate and shut my phone off after 2 weeks. so screw the...

That was nice of them to give you a credit for the disconnection fee though.

And why would you have needed them to give you online access to pay your bill? All you need to do is go to sprint.com and log into your account and hit the pay now button, I guess I don't really understand that part.

i went to sprint.com, but you have to login to your account to pay the bill, but since they interrupted my serivce they shut off access to login to my account online, therefore i couldnt pay my bill online. i asked them to turn my login back on so that i could make my payments and they never did. i would have paid them but i wasnt going to drive 30 min out of my way to give them a payment when i could have done it from home like i had been had the cust care rep done her job and gave me my account access back. i know why cust care reps hate custy's cuz they bitch, but i also see why we have the cust care reps cuz they dont do what they say they are going to.

nope. not gonna happen. i dont give CC info over the phone. i dont trust the reps with my info because if they screw up and enter the wrong payment amount, i know im never gonna get my money back. if i cant trust them to turn my online service back on, why should i trust them with my CC info?

why didn't you ask the rep to transfer you to payments or finance so you could pay for it over the phone?
