In Need of an Honest Opinion

To make a long story short, I am returning to the US after living abroad, so I am currently shopping for a new cellphone carrier. I am reluctant to go back to my carrier from before my move abroad due to abundance of service issues I had with them, and am looking at sprint merely because a family member has had no complaints about the company. However, I want to know just how bad off Sprint is right now. Should I steer clear of the company? I have been trying to get as much info on the Sprint situation as I can, and if it weren't for the family member recommending the company I wouldn't have even considered it based off of your posts. But as it stands, I want to know from current employees/customers, is going with Sprint at this time a g...

Sprint isnt going anywhere so, If you are worried about losing service there shouldnt be an issue.

Also if you are looking into service try SERO
www.sprint.com/sero - dan.hesse@sprint.com works.

Sprint might be sold, but they would never sell off part of a network and If u get good reception where u are I'd go with them. I have friends on ATT and they get sorry all circuits busy all the time. I never have a problem with the coverage or the network, I have vision and always down loads what I need with no problems! Hope this helps

I am not going to try to convince you to go with Sprint, if your family member is not having any issues that should really be enough for you. I've had every carrier in the book, and IMO Sprint is the best for me! Sprint is losing customers mostly on the iden side, and the new CEO is making a lot of positive changes to correct this. There are a lot of people slamming on Sprint right now, but it's out of ignorance. Sprint like most carriers has a 30 day trail if you don't care for them, then you're free to go elsewhere. Like my profile says I'm happily holding crystal clear calls!! Chirp Chirp 😁

Sprint has potential and hopefuly with all the issues and losing almost 2/3 million customers I believe they will change their game plane. I go off on Sprints hand me down phones alot but that is an easy fix. I get good-great reception and customer service although sometimes not all there always fixes the issue. I feel sprint is alot more flexible when asking for discounts and credits than any carrier. Go with Sprint 🙂

I would say sprint is the second best carrier I have had as far as reception sound and features. Alltel is better and by far to me. But if alltel was not around I would go with sprint. Verizon is great but to high priced and you get the same if not more with sprint. Verizon has better CS but its the lowest on my list when I choose. Being its the least thing I use.

I have had them all and cant stand att. Had issues with late voicemails, texts, and calls going and coming. Not saying its everywere or still going on but the point is I had them.

Verizon no issues really when I had them. Just high plans. and data is limited.

Tmobile. Not bad don't like the way GSM sounds but they provide the best deal. Data is severally limited.

another misinformed Id.. I mean person.

If you are charged with roaming with alltel as I have said in my post you didn't read or couldn't comprehend then if you had att tmobile verizon or sprint your phone would be a brick as it won't work. Why because for sprint and the others to say free roaming they only allow you to use your phone on networks they have an agreement with. If not you would have to use a credit card to make a call and would be allot more then the 59 cents alltel charges for roaming in those remote places.

I do compare them as the are in 34 states. And cover allot of people. And they work in every state and don't have a 50% rule either!

well if data is important I wouldn't go anywere you can't beet sprint for data or the price. Well alltel does give them a run for that. But they are not everywhere so if you live in an area they are in I would choose them. Verizon is too expensive with data and cap their data to 5gb a month. Att has 3g in only a few cities now they are almost as bad as tmobile but their edge is much better.

I actually left Sprint a year ago..... I went to at&t...I had Alltel last year at one point but I had too many issues with their phones shutting off and freezing and the internet to me was the worst I have seen... I know I seen something recently about at&t capping their data at 5gb also... Not too sure about all that gb stuff 🙂 Right now I am thinking either Sprint (again), Verizon, or T-Mobile (when they actually get to the Carolinas)... I am liking the red Pearl with Sprint though and I like some of VZW phones as well... Thanks

Sounds good. The phone issue had to be the phone. They have phones like th other carriers so its not exclusive phones. I have had them for 7 months. And I get unlimited internet on my laptop for free when it night or weekends. They have 3g and were they are not in they use sprints evdo network. Like right now I am in cali using sprints EVDO for free since its Sunday. And I don't even pay anything for internet a month as they still use minutes. The internet is averaging 2mbs here and when I was in alltel's area it was over 3. And you can't beet 10 numbers to call for free.

But Sprint is great to as they have some good price plans now and text and data. So you will be great with them too. Verizon is to expensive and you don't get any re...

I dont know if it was the phones or what... I had 2 different models and had the same exact issues... I really had not had any issues with at&t until now... To me VZW and at&t pricing seems to be the same... My thing is that I want my next phone to be a blackberry so I am not sure exactly what to do.... I am really feeling T-Mobile and their prices.. I really am skeptical about going back to Sprint because I did have a few issues with them.. I always had to look for some bars before I could make a call and the CS was horrific... So I am just gonna have to think about it.. But I do Like the SERO 🙂

Well I switched over to Sprint in September and have been 100% satisfied with the service I have received. Coverage is good and the SERO plan's price is great. I do not think you will have very many problems with Sprint but the Nextel side is horrendous as is their phone selection.

Thanks for the input! Let's be honest, I had Cingular/AT&T before I left the country and I can't tell you how many "all circuits are busy" or other random errors I got whenever I needed to make calls. This is something I want to avoid, and from what you guys are saying, Sprint does exactly what I want.

yes, sprint is actually paying you to have their service and what i mean by that is the their SERO plan. They are plans with awesome features for a steep discounted price. I think right now you also get free unlimited text included also with a sero plan plus included features like vision and picture mail(which is a joke IMO).

You need a sprint employee to refer you to SERO from what i recall, also if you are going the SERO route do not get a blackberry, your free data you get with SERO will not work on a blackberry.

why would you need an sprint employee when you can refer yourself, just use the "universal" email.

savings@sprintemi.com

its that simple!

I have been with Cingular/at&t for almost a year..I have recently been receiving those "all circuits are busy" and "call failed" errors.. I have also noticed that it sometimes takes a day for someone to receive an MMS msg from me... They started out really good but I dont know now lol
