My brother has an sanyo 8300 and his screen crack last night. Can he take to a sprint retail store since he has the $7 equipment protection plan. If they dont have that phone what model you think he might be able to get?

For an issue like that it would require a call to Lockline. Sprint stores will not perform TEP replacements in store. Lockline has a seperate inventory for that.

The $7 TEP would cover a cracked screen and it can be fixed in a service and repair center. The only reason you would need to call lockline and get a replacement through them is if your phone is lost, water damaged, or stolen. If they have the part to replace it they will just replace the flip and he'll have the same phone, if not he MAY get the 8400...but don't quote me on that part.

If a phone is damaged beyond repair it will have to go through Lockline. Not just if it's lost, water damaged or stolen.

From what he said though, its just the screen, and that is easy to repair. Only question is, does his Sprint Store have a technician in it? If not, it may be easier to call lockline.

All he has to do is go to a corp. service and repair store. Sprint.com, find a store, service and repair.

If a repair shop does not have parts to fix a flip we will order in the parts or a refurbished one, not too many people are stupid enough to swap a discontinued model for a $330 phone, come on. bigw7979 expect the same model/color back. Yes I know they still have refurbished ones. Also why would you spend $50 for the same thing for going through a 3rd party replacement? Just go to a repair center.

Well i have it wasn't for my phone. My brother was the one who had the sanyo 8300 the had a crack screen. They didn't bother to replace the screen they just gave a new phone. He said that they came back from the back with a box and it was the katana dlx.

The point is, if youre following WEL list, which you SHOULD be.. youll be ordering a refurb RAZR.

Just like when the WEL list was chock FULL of 8300s.. people were getting 8300 for Samsung 660s, Samsung A740s, anything and everything, they were replaced with 8300s.
Which now, are being replaced with RAZRs.. so in theory, if one had an A660, got it replaced with an 8300, then had a problem with that phone, they could get a razr... all without upgrades or renewals...lol, crazy

I wouldn't exactly call a RAZR an upgrade...to anything. 😁
