I have seen this issue several times. Most likely your boyfriend is sending yo a text without the area code. The area code has to be attached to the phone number if he wantes to send a correct text to you or anyone else. If the text doesn't go through, and gives an error, please inform me what it is, but I'm pretty confident it's the area code.

I concur. The most common problem with text messaging (SMS) is that the address lacked the area code, or NPA.

Phone numbers in the US are formatted as such: NPA-NXX-XXXX

The NPA is required for SMS to be delivered, even locally, even to/from the same carrier.

He is using the area code. It says it is sent and it never gets to me. I would think it would be my side, but it happens with other people phone on other networks.

Sprint-to-Sprint messages are handled by Sprint systems. Makes sense, right? That system is called the Bulk Messaging Gateway (BMG). Intercarrier messages obviously cannot actually be delivered by Sprint, since we are dealing with another provider's network at that point. Hence the creation of MetCalf (aka the InterCarrier Messaging System, aka ICM). The ICM hands messages over to other carriers for delivery. Thats really its only job.

The whole reason that I went thru that explanation is because at this point, if its not a problem on your end, this points to a problem wit...
