Picture Messaging

Hello Forum, I am new to Spint and am having trouble retrieving picture messages. I was with VW and when a pix came in it would just show up on my screen. But it seems with Sprint I have to log onto the internet and save the picture to my phone and then view. Is there an easier way? This seems like a lot of work. Any help is really appreciated.
By the way I have an LG and I also tried sending a pix on a Sanyo and both the same issue. Thanks..... 😕

i get a thumbnail and then click to view full size. but it does require vision access, so if you do not subscribe to it, then you wont get the picture.

If you subscribe to picture mail you will get the picture. However depends on your phone as to how you get it. I to get a thumbnail and click to view a bigger one. I have a m1. Others you get a text with a link you have to click!

i dont know why you have to pay an extra $5 to send and receive pictures, i mean your already paying for the messaging plan and than you have to dish out and additonl $5 a month just to send and receive pictures. I used to have verizon, i have sprint now, and the picture messaging was so easy. I guess this is my only negative about sprint for right now.

your "messaging plan" on sprint includes sms only. this is because they go thru voice channels. the extra $5 for picture mail is because of the additional data you will use, as picturemail does NOT go thru voice channels.

like i explained before, sprint differentiates technologies, not functions. i dont normally defend sprints setup, but i prefer this method. you pay for web to use web functions. its simple.

so your saying that you prefer to pay an extra $5 to send and receive pictures. why do they send pictures through the web anyways, waht does verizon do that they dont need to do that.if verizon doesnt need to use the web than why does sprint. Like i said i have sprint but i just think it s stupid.

i would rather pay $15 for unlimited sms, and $5 for unlimited pic/videomail.

how much would you pay on cingular for those?

o, you CANT have unlimited, and the plans are still more costly.

Lest jump on the "hold up machine"

The 5 dollars that you pay ONLY gives you access. If you send pic mail, recv the links, or upload pictures, youre charged 3 cents per Kb of data used.

THAT is BS.. and they need to remedy it FAST

that is bs my friend and lots of it. Like i said in earlier post, i used to be on verizon and the msg plan you were on included everything. it was so easy to use. I have sprint now and i just hate the fact that you go on a msg plan and still have to dish out and extra $5 per month just to send and receive pictures.

Im not sure if you were agreeing with me, or sayig I was BSing.
If you pay the extra 5, and send, recv, or upload pics, youll still be charged data.

thats not the point, the point is why we even have to pay that stupid $5 fee per month just to send and receive pictures. you make it sound like you like to give sprint an extra $5 every month.

thats basically it. every carrier is a little different as far as how this works.

you will begin to notice that nearly everything is web based on sprint.

like I said every phone is different. On mine as I said it downloads the pic then tells me I have new pic mail then I can click it and see it. If I want to save it then it downloads the picture to my phone. I like it better then getting a text with a link to the picture mail. I believe new sanyo's can do it this way. Other may but I dunno!

Your set up is how I'm used to it with VW (glad to be rid of them). I'm appreciative of the help this way when I'm looking at phones this is a area I will pay attention to, I'm going to add a relative to my line and get a new phone and give them this LG since they dont use the picture messaging function, thanks again.

All power vision phones display a thumbnail
Vision phones make you click on the link.
