for all those phones that have memory slots, can we use the cards to put it into a PC so we can put sound files inside, then transfer it back to the phone base memory then use them as ringtones? i know tmobile is able to do this. i'm wondering if sprint can? thanks.

No, but if you cut the mp3 file down to 30 seconds or less you can send it to the phone with the "Sprint PCS Vision Uploader" on rumkin.com.

On iDen phones you don't have to do that.

With the Moto (CDMA) phones you can do it via the memory card. I'm not sure about Samsungs though.

For cutting the MP3 down, I'd recommend jetAudio and keep the ring tone around the 128kps mark. I agree www.rumpkin is a good site to use upload a ring tone to a CDMA phone. The really big thing to make sure is you have one of the unlimited data packages and a text message package so you don't get dinged at the casual rate of $0.03/kb for the data download and $0.15 casual rate per text message.

For the most part yes. It depends on what model of phone you have.
