video messaging on 6800?
has anyone else had trouble with receiving video text messages? i have windows 6 installed because i was told by alltel customer service it is what makes the video texts work? seemed dumb to me but i wanted os 6 anyway. well needless to say i still can't receive video texts. when i go to open the text message it says i have to go to my alltel pictures. so i called alltel back and now they tell me that there is a problem with this phone receiving video texts from older phones and they don't have a correction! what do i do now? video/picture text messaging was part of what brought me to the 6800 smart phone over the blackberry! any advice greatly appreciated.

It's a possibility that you have the incorrect code for your messaging. Smartphones were previously coded with SPXD but since the introduction of the PPC6800 they are now coded with MMSD. Contact CS or Tech Support and have them change the code if they have not yet.

I had the same problem. Level two tech support told me it is a firmware issue and HTC is working on a new firmware for it. He said it should be about 3 wks or so. I didn't want to wait so I returned the phone. I am sure it will happen but $579.99 is alot to pay for a phone that doesn't work as it should. You could have your video sent to your email address and you should be able to receive it that way. Good Luck

SPXD and MMSD dont change anything but the way MMS is billed (ie $.25 per MMS). Firmware is the issue on the HTC.

There is no issue with Videomessaging outbound on the PPC-6800 nor issue with pic messaging.

i haven't had any problem with outbound either just inbound. i can receive inbound video from my friends razr. i can't get video from my other friends 710 though. guess from the way it looks i will have to wait until they get the firmware updated. thanks again to those with responses. feedback is greatly appreciated.
