a630? or best option on cingular.
I'm dieing for the A630. What have you heard? Has there been any phone in the history of cingular that has been advertised, promoted, set up as an option on the web and then completely cancelled? If this happens to the a630 (GOD I HOPE NOT) what would be my best option. My requirement is a compact phone with a full qwerty and some good features. PDA combo would definitely be more than what I need and I've heard the LG F9100 is not good and seen that it has not gotten good reveiws. Suggestions?

Not sure I could get used to the 2 piece keyboard. Have you heard good things about the treo? Whave have you heard about the a630. I'm just dying for it but it seems no one is sure about the status of the a630. Not even on the 630 form. Though I go straight to the cingular people for answers.

the a630 that we originally were testing was found to have knock-off parts in it, due to one of motorola's suppliers being dicks. we recently got a new one with authentic parts and from what i hear it is passing very well through testing now.
at least this is what i was told from a reputable source which i will not divulge.

I have not heard anything, and I mean anything, about it being cancelled... Last I heard was that they were replacing the "non-working" parts with working parts then re-tweeking it for the system.

If it doesn't become available, your options do vary depending on what you are or aren't looking for.
Personally, I'm also big on the v551, and I've heard good things from some of my friends that have that model. Like the a630, it has fully-capable Bluetooth and a camera. The main difference is the form factor due to lack of a QWERTY-keypad. From the standpoint of software and user interface, it's nearly identical. If the QWERTY-keypad isn't a make-or-break factor for you, you might be happy with the v551.
If the QWERTY-keypad is more important to you than BT or a camera, the LG f9100 might be the right phone for you. I have minimal experience with this pho...
