Thanks to everyone that responded. Looks like it's either the W710i or the W810i.

My cousin has a credit from sonystyle.com for an MP3 player that crashed a few months ago.

So they gave her a coupon code for free shipping and 10% on the next online purchase.

We can order the W710i with a 1GB memory chip for right around $349

Or we can order a W810i with a 4GB memory chip for about $400.

I know it's only a $50 dollar difference but the main questions are.

How will the W710i work on the cingular network? ( Anyone out there using one on the network)

And after the phone is received do we just call cingular and tell them to add the phone to the network?

Will they do that or give us hassle because we did not buy from the...

They are both quad band/edge phones, so they should work fine on the network

to get the phone "on the network" just pop in your sim card. You can get the settings for MMS/web you need from the net.. heck you may be able to walk into a cingy store and ask them for them they might set it up for you..

I am guessing there will be some slight software differences - although I couldn't tell you what they are..

I dunno about the insurance..I have never opted for it as I thought it was a waste.

I have the w710i right now and had the w810i for 2 months before it got stolen. The w810i has a much better camera on it and better battery life from what I noticed but I do don't like where the dedicated walkman is placed on the w810 but the camera is SOOO much better.

lets say u bought the 710 insurance would prolly end up sending u a z525 for replacement if u broke it
so u would be wasting money buying the insurance
but the 810 seems to be better from what one of the other reps said so i would go that route

i myself can't explain the main differences

if u don't mind the contract or locked phone the 810 is only 174.99 with a 100 dollar rebate so u only pay like 75 in the end
thats a great deal
plus it can hold up to a 8 gig stick i hear
trial and error
use the 30 day policy to make sure u like it be4 u get stuck with it for 2 years if u go that contract route....
