ROKR E1, Samsung X497, 6682 Discontinued

We got a notice this morning that we could not longer order any of these models because they have been discontinued. Said the LG1500 would replace the X497, and gives nothing to replace the other two.

What is the deal? Does anyone know why this is? I have seen no problems with the ROKR, the 6682 we never even got any in. Will they re-release the 6682 with 3G technology?

I hope so about the 6682! As for the other part of it, I don't know yet. If this is true then I am in shock. We have the worst selection of phones right now! Especially with the 6102 on backorder.

I haven't heard squat about that. In my market, the 6682 is on hold and likely will be until December. The ROKR was reduced in cost, so expect to see a reduce in retail price on November 6th. If it doesn't drop I'll rack myself and video it for everyone to watch. The 497 sells like crack, so I don't expect that to be discontinued unless they've just flat run out of phones. Especially because Samsung is already VERY low in representation in the current handset lineup.

Yeah, why would they discontine the Rokr, all I heard is that it might be dropping price here pretty soon, but it's just getting out to people they won't take it off just yet.

What market are you in and what company do you work with?

Some fool also posted the 3220 was discontinued by Cingular months ago and was wrong. We still carry it and it is now a Go Phone.

Many times these are regional or company decisions and they do not effect everyone.

Yea the 3220 was pulled, and now is a go phone. We got a email today actually that the v220 was pulled and will be replaced by the 3220. The t290 is in short supply so we are also cleared to continue selling the 6010 at that price.

Maybe a market thing, but I'm that fool about the 3220 lol. We haven't carried it since I posted, but we are due a shipment of them this week for go phones.

BTW, what happened to the v220? CSP said it was an exclusive go phone, and at the same time, we completely stopped recieving them. Mixup at moto? or on our side?

I know it was disc as a postpaid phone, but was supposed to be available as a go phone.

No, it wasn't you 🙂

Some dude who didn't even work for Cingular I think, some other GSM provider.

Maybe the V220 was Go Phone until they were out.
