That will translate into 2.7 million potentially unhappy customers when they realize how crappy ATT service really is.

And now with the ipad coming on board...OUCH., even more strain on the system.

oh please....if customers were really that unhappy with at&t service their churn wouldn't be so low.in fact, churn seems to be getting loewr and lower every quarter.

AT&T's churn keeps getting lower and lower, while Vz's gets higher and higher... Hmmm, I wonder where their customers are going???? 😎

AT&T's churn for Q4 '09 1.44% (down from 1.64% Q4 '0😎

Vz's churn for Q4 '09 1.44% (up from 1.34% Q4 '0😎

Once they had the lower churn in the industry. Now AT&T has matched that.

Never underestimate the rabid apple fanboys.

I would be willing to bet my last dollar if Verizon had the iphone the fanboys would jump ship in a heartbeat.

Perhaps... But they do not. Depending upon whom one believes, Verizon was never offered the iphone or they were offered the concept with no device and declined. In either case, AT&T is the beneficiary and I would think that they would be willing to do nearly anything Apple asks (such as, supporting a contract-less unlimited data plan on the ipad) to stay in Apple's good graces. Maybe Apple will consider and keep the iphone on AT&T? That would be a boon.

This idea is starting to sound like a broken record!
Gee, do you have any unhappy iPad users to back this up? 😕
Not to mention do you really think the iPad is going to sell like the iPhone...NOPE!

Exactly. I wish we could get beyond this rival carrier bashing. Besides, one cannot have it both ways. On the one hand I am hearing the retort that the ipad will not sell. Well...if it does not sell...they will not be a lot of users to clog up the network.

Highlights:
Smartphones represent more than 46% of the devices on AT&T's network. (simply impressive)
iPhones account for approximately 18% of the customer base.
Data revenue up 15% year-over-year.

Yes. Iphone trumps "The Network" obviously. AT&T should be quite pleased. (I would be).

But could you imagine what the quarters will look like once Android is here?

That would give AT&T every OS option along with the Palm Pre they should be getting soon. I am surprised that it has taken this long to get Android and WebOS to market and seize that advantage. But then...they are certainly not hurting with things status quo.

It's funny how everyone keeps bashing At&t saying what crappy service it is, and how everyone hates it. Yet we have over 80 million customers. 🙂

85.1 million is nothing to sneeze at. I don't think those AT&T customers in New York City and San Francisco are making it up. The important thing is that AT&T is addressing the problems AND publicizing the fact that they are doing so. That is very smart.

i liked you more as an ATT dealer before you drank the koolaid.

ATT doesn't need to move to 4g. Network speeds are not maxed out. CDMA rev A is maxed at 3.1 mbps.

GSM HSPA can hit 7.2 and is launched in test markets now with devices capable of that already in market. Currently no LTE devices exist and will most likely launch with 2 or 3 devices..
