Okay i tried to write soemthing but my internet explorer crashed and now i have to rewrite. To make a logn story short i got a warranty replacement phone. On my old one i had 3 games worth about 20 bucks. When i was getting it replaced lady told me to get refund on the 3 games and then use credit to repurchase them. I tried that but they got denied. So i call cingualr and after getting transfered 5 times i find out it can't be done. Instead what i should do is buy the games again and then get a refund. I try that with 1 game and get denied. I call em up, get transfered, then am told they can't do anything since i had 3 refund already on things they screwed up like buying a ringtone for someone then they couldn't get it. Can anyone help me ou...

😕 I ACTUALLY WORK FOR CING AND WAS TOLD THAT IT IS POSSIBLE BUT YOUR SIM CARD IS PROBABLY FRIED NOW. IF YOUR OLD CARD IS STILL WORKING IT IS POSIBLY. DON'T ASK HOW EXACTLY BUT TRUST ME IT IS.

Guilty, what in the world are you talking about?

Ok, for your ringtones/games/whatever. Depending on where you bought them, you may have download privliges for up to 60 days after purchase, but beyond that, I doubt there is much of a recouse. When you purchase a tone or a game, you are basically purchasing a liscense to use that game on that specific phone. If you want the product again for a different device, you have to purchase the liscense again. I'm sure if you called in and made enough of a stink about it, and were very clear about the fact that you were promised a refund for the games, you will be able to get at least a partial credit for the cost.

I was told by my Q4E that it is possibly. I don't know how but I know that you can get phone numbers, etc copied to the sim and saved to another phone and was advised that you can also get ring tones and games brought to the second phone. Again don't ask how but I was told this is definitely possible

The sim card is only able to hold names and phone numbers for a move over to another wireless device. It might, I stress, MIGHT be possible for him to move over ringtones and games if both of his devices had SD slots, and allowed him to save said ringtones and games to a memory card.

And this is directly from the CSP job aid on ringtones:

Q. If I replace or upgrade my handset, how can I transfer my games?

A. Unfortunately, you can't. You'll need to download and repurchase any games for your new handset. Downloads are nontransferable.

there is policy in CSP under exchange by mail which states that the customer can be credited up to 50$ in direct bill charges if the phone is replaced through XBM and the customer had purchased the ringtones games etc through cingular.

The one pitfall of this forum is that I occasionally seem to learn something useful 👿

Do any of you reps actully read CSP?

If you looked under the XBM documentation, we will cover customer for DirectBill downloads that are non-transferable (up to a certain amount)

So these games should be covered, either by someone giving him a credit in the billing system, or some needs to use the direct bill admin tool to override the deniels he recieved.

Some of us are still new. Forgive me if I am ignorant but what is csp?

Again, I quote csp:

Q. If I replace or upgrade my handset, how can I transfer my games?

A. Unfortunately, you can't. You'll need to download and repurchase any games for your new handset. Downloads are nontransferable.

Before you get your panties in a twist, you need to calm down and realize that there is a TON of inaccurate and just plain misinformation floating around out there, and not just from reps. Even our in house documentation is contradictory in places.

Also, guilty, if you don't know what csp is, I suggest you request to be retrained, because whoever it was that taught you about our systems did a terrible job.

That is very true but I may take a different type of call then you and have no need for csp and that cld be why I don't know what it is

Every Cingular Rep should know and have access to CSP, its is basicly our Information portal.

And Drayen, That is correct.. most downloads are non-transferable, unless you have a data cable, even then not always.

If you take your time and look up
Policy & Procedures: Exchange by Mail (XBM)

You will see that in cases of a warrenty exchange in cases of non-transferablity we will cover for downloads.
