Transfer of Liability

I have 4 lines and I would like to transfer 2 of them to someone else so that they can finish the contract. How do I go about doing this? Can I port out my numbers before giving up the lines? Or will they have to remain open until the process is done. Can I even keep my numbers?

Thanks for the help in advance!

If you are looking to switch carriers on two of the lines you can port the two out and leave the other two on the account with the same family plan in tact. You can even lower the plan in the meantime before the transfer of liability takes place to help lower the cost of the bill. All you need to do is call customer care and have them note the account that you give the new owner of the two lines permission to take over the lines, and have them call customer care or go into a corp. store to finish the rest. Hope This Helps.

If I understand correctly, you would just like to remove two lines from your family plan and allow them to continue on using a plan under someone elses name.

If this is the case then you can do so by visiting the AT&T wireless store or by calling Customer Care. There will be a credit check done on the new account holder and a deposit may be required. Also, this would be a new 24 month agreement for this person.

This will remove these lines from your name with no penalty to you and allow the other party to resume responsibility for these.

Transfer of Service is only an 11 month contract if sticking with AT&T not a 2 year agreement.

Good to know. Thank you. What if they still have say, 20 months left on their agreement? Would this still take it to 11 months?
