Coverage in Hawaii

How is the Cingular coverage in Hawaii? Since there was never a Cingular in Hawaii before the buyout of ATT does anyone know if it's the same as the prior ATT coverage? Cos if that's the case, then there's really no improvement...but if anything is different...please comment. Thanks.

I would imagine the coverage would be the same for right now

Actually, Hawaii was originally a Cingular asset but was traded for some spectrum here in the states.Form what I hear, it is pretty good for heavy foliage islands.

Beat me to it: When I worked for cingular we still had Hawaii, then sold it to ATnT. So, to the best of my knowledge it's really going to be the same thing as it was, and was before that lol.....

Cingular still has coverage in Hawaii. The main island is about 60% covered, the mainland on Maui is covered, Lanai, Molokai, and Oahu are pretty well covered, and Kauai/Niihau are pretty limited.
