I thought I'd start this new thread with an article from Reuters today.

Also, I was getting tired of trying to dig thru all the replies in the other thread =)

Anyway, this is only part of the article. For the full article, click on the link.

Oops...forgot to include part of the article. Again, the full article can be accessed by clicking on the link in my previous post in this thread.

Here it is:

"...Cingular(SBC.N: Quote, Profile, Research) (BLS.N: Quote, Profile, Research) currently uses Amdocs software for most of its billing and handles its customer inquiries in-house.

Convergys Chief Financial Officer Earl Shanks said that while he had nothing definitive to announce at this stage, he hopes the takeover gives Convergys the opportunity to win new business at least in the customer service segment.

"On the customer care side we're are optimistic that it is probably a positive," Shanks said during a Web cast from an investor conference on Wednesday.

I wonder if they meant all of the AT&T cust care reps or just the ones who work directly for at&t. I'm out of convergys and we are still hiring as well but that doesn't mean that there won't be lay offs after the merger. I wish that we could just get a straight answer from someone instead of answers that leave loop holes and are subject to the readers interpretation.
