Just curious if anyone knows if we "Cingular Blue"
reps can join the union like the orange reps can.
If so is it worth it?

As a "blue" employee, I feel that a union is completely unnecessary at the center I work in. The pay is decent, the environment is stable, and our superiors actually treat us like individuals. If I were part of a union, I'd be paying for what I'm already getting. Now I can't speak for other call centers though. I do know that some union supporters were passing out flyers for a unionization interest meeting a few months ago. To my Knowledge only a few people from my location actually attended.

mattm745, I know where you are, and I would like to state for the record that this place is not horrible. At all. And if you are not getting treated like a human being, then you are confusing your job as a food-court janitor with a job at the call center.
S'ok, easy mistake to make!

for every rep who is serious about joining a union, you have one more who would, but doesn't want to lose their job, one more who is gunning for some sort of management position and won't dare be seen as working against The Man, another who would say yes to joining a union, but doesn't want to stand out in a crowd, and 2-5 others who have been so brainwashed by their employers or their parents or by neo conservative talking heads or ayn rand novels that they actually think that organising is somehow a bad thing. For myself, I don't want to lose my job, and I can guaran-damn-tee you that if it came to The Man's attention that I was agitating for the Socialist Horde my butt would be out the door and off the property before I could unpack for t...
