So, Mr. Customer calls in. He had been to 2G previously, then to cingular, then to another dept. in orange, then back to us. He had an issue with an account that went to collections 8 YEARS AGO!!! He could not start a new account with this black mark, but he claimed (don't they always đ ) that he paid it, years ago. Off I go to the orange side, to get some information on this issue (Mr. Customer was not articulate; him talking = me confused). I told him I would work to resolve this issue as soon as possible (That's right. I said it). The orange rep was very helpful: he contacted Accounts Receivable and they confirmed the balance owed, along with collection agency contact number. well, get this: some guy with a Motorola PIPER calls in (his account has been out of contract since 199đ and he wants to reprogram the phone because its not working anymore - MAYBE BECAUSE ITS 10 YEARS OLD! Anyway, ONCE 5 years ago it also wasnt working and some lady reprogrammed it and - wala! - it worked! So, first of all he wants to speak specifically with this rep from 5 years ago (how sad if shes still working here) and when I cant reprogram the phone (there is seriously 28 steps that are REALLY wierd to do this), he flips out and starts going on about how incompetent I am and how I should get fired blah blah blah! I have never been more ready to snap in my life (well, maybe when I got that CAP 3)! I offered him a new phone, but NO, he...

Mr. Customer being of limited empathy and vision did not realize the pain he is causing because he himself is "the pain". Some people generally are angry...they are in belief that if they push us with anger we will revert into "I WILL HELP YOU SIR" agents and suddenly Mr. Angry Customer will magically become Mr. "I'm getting a free fon so I'm not so angry customer." This whole theory these mad customers bring with them is now played out. Anger can get you spanish voicemail or blocked ingoing and outgoing calls, not to mention throw anger and attitude down on a rep. and see what happens afterward. Usually absolutely nothing.
