Customer calls in, blaming merger for going over minutes, I advised of Cingular, he accept a plan $20.00 higher and a phone for $49.99 with the $18.00 AND he paid his $200.00 BILL!!! The customer blew my mind, he was so accepting I gave him a credit of $20.00 for not complaining.

There customers, ME, a rep out there that will credit you for NOT complaining and even when you don't ask for a credit too!!!

He was surprized when I gave him the credit too.

Watch out with that credit throwing though and in a way I would like to let any cust. that happens to read that last statement that his comments are only under that agents capabilities...We don't give credits period..when we don't have to...I don't care if you are gonna throw yourself offa bridge...I don't credit back phys. damage charges or unreturned equip...But if you can be the light in our dark universe that shines brightest...go for it...Someone in the world has to be happy right? 😉

I agree, I was basically stating that MY policy is: If you have a problem but you are happy and NOT yelling at me or demanding I credit back everything and give you something extra for the trouble AND you are worth the credit then and ONLY THEN will I consider giving a credit for the troubles.

Every call I get the customer is unhappy but only once in a blue moon do I get the happy go lucky customer willing to pay for their overage or misc. charges.

Please if you call in don't be angry be happy and see what difference it will make with a rep. Who knows that rep may be me or someone willing to assist for something extra.

The proverb goes "You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar."

The nice, friendly, patient customers are the ones I will go to the greatest lengths to help. Even if they have problems or are dissatisfied, the ones that remain civil and mature are the ones I enjoy helping. And those that want to purchase service or accessories are even better!
