We are getting bought out people, it was nice working with you

Certainly looks like something is going to happen.
Even getting customer's calling that store reps are telling them that something is happening in March/April.
Customer care will be safe...IMO. It's middle and upper mgmt that should be scared, again IMO.
If the merger/buyout occurs, that's going to give the company over 45 million customers to deal with...and the need for customer care reps will be great.

hopefully the new att/cingular wireless will keep attws's family plan, cingular's sux (except the rollover minutes).

I am sure some of Customer care will go, considering in California there is already a huge Cingular center, and there are two AT&T Wireless Call Centers in California, I wouldn't be surprised if at least one of them is gone.
I think that retail stores will be impacted just as much as middle management. While it would be nice to have, There's really no need for two Cingular/AT&T stores across from each other...
...
we have 3 cingulars in our mall and 3 AT&T's, boy that's going to suck!
...
Then you havent seen the new york market. I have a store on Long Island new york. With in 2 mile radius I have 6 store that are right on top of my store location. It would be nice to see carriers jump in and let their be a limit of stores per town. I dont see that happening but truly see your point!!!!
...
true but it is doubtful they will keep this center open. What Cingular has done in the past is open their centers and smaller towns so they can pay less money, like $7 an hour

😁 A company does not more than double their customer base then lay off have the care team, I happen to know they are having a hard time ramping their own Call center in OKC, so I wouldn't be worried if I were you.

Why would we loose our jobs. Like they said. 45 million customers need CSR's too. It'd be suicide to buy a company and fire all their reps. Might as well just re-train a bit to catch up. Both sides would have to really. Unless Cingular just doesnt keep anything AWS except for the towers. If anything AWS should buy Cingular, drop everything but the towers and roll over minutes and the companies ways to track their min, which i dont know how they do, and their CSR's. But just think about it. 21 more million customers to come complaining that the hold times are longer. Double the network and cust's still wont be happy. Just complaining that the merger made the wait longer. And even if Cingular drops all of AWS reps, which they wont, I work for...
