KITT

I ported my cell # from ATTWS to Sprint last night. 🙂

I was just wondering how long it will take?

Thanks!

if the rep entered in all of your informartion correctly it shouldn't take long at all

but if he put the address wrong, your name wrong or any thing like that it could bbe a while

and if you got ther phone threw a 3rd party like best buy or radio shack then it can really take a long time since they are only half trained if even that

As a part-time RadioShack Employee, I must respectfully disagree with your assessment of our abilities. Porting a number to SprintPCS is probably one of the most painless of the cell phone processes. We utilize the SprintPCS FAST activation terminal and it is easy to learn. As long as the customer has the correct billing info from the previous carrier (I ask them to bring in an old bill), then the process goes smoothly. Most of the porting times I have seen have been in the time frame of hours, not days.

from what i understand now, most (if not all) of the companies only check a few bits of information. this includes only the name, social security number and the billing zip code of the customer. this would explain why we have all had far fewer porting problems than just a couple of months ago.

You've basically been told the story. As long as everything is as AT&T demands, then it's done within a matter of hours.

But, if there's *anything* not the way AT&T understands, even the slightest reason for them to say "we don't have an account with that information", then you'll be calling us again to re-input that AT&T info. Be sure you've got your last bill handy.
