Hey Guys,
I'm getting Sprint on friday, hate T-mobile, hate AT&T in my area, and Sprint has good coverage. Now the one thing I need to figure out though...which phone do I want? I am a heavy data and text user...please help!
...
If you can't wait a month or two, then I would go Instinct. I absolutely love mine.
If you can wait, wait for the Palm Pre.
...
The Treo 800 will be very nicely priced after the 19th!
...
I would say touch pro, it has a full keyboard and its also touch screen, and it has winmo 6.1
...
Okay awesome...well I'm going to go through radioshack so all three of the phones I get are for free....I want a good web browser, and good texting....I would get the palm pro but I don't really have the funds to drop on it...I like the idea of a free device...
...
GET A CURVE...
if you must get a windows phone...get the palm pro, the whole free thing will bite you in the ass in about 6 months (you get what you pay for)
if you go for the instinct treat the touch screen like an egg shell as it is obviously the most vital and tendor part of the phone...
and if you don't like bb and must have one of the "free" phones, i would get the centro. very user friendly and more durable than the other two...sure it has its downsides but they are usually easily fixed with a hard reset...
i work in a corp repair store and these are the 3 devices we see the most!!! the only bb's i see come back are more user error or cust that refused sprints ready now service (device setup) or those who have found a way to get ...

Thank you for the advice, I am aware the Curve is pretty much the best phone on the planet. I actually had the 8320 with T-mobile last year and absolutely loved it...I want something different, but I was actually leaning towards the Centro so I'm glad you mentioned that. '
As for the Instinct, is it really that delicate? I'm very good with my phones and treat them like glass, and I never drop my phone. What are some of the common problems with the device? And if I get a blackberry I'm going with ATT&T and the Bold, or T-mobile and the 8900...but I was hoping to stay away from those carriers.
Also how is the Centro's OS in terms of browsing? Can you watch youtube videos? Thanks for the help!
...
The Instinct is not delicate at all...I used to keep mine in my purse and thanks to my toddler mine has been stepped on, sat on, chewed on, thrown down the stairs, thrown off the porch. And drooled all over. None of this intentionally of course, my daughter just seems to have some kind of homing beacon for cell phones and can find one in less than 10 seconds anywhere in the house you put it. Case in point the day she tossed it off the porch it was on top of the refrigerator. Who said 2 yr olds can't climb???????
...
i am glad you find the device durable...i only had an instinct for about ten days just so i could get familiar with the device...
i will tell you this much, today alone we repaired/ordered 11 instincts all that looked like they were treated like an egg...but they all had defective/malfunctioning touchscreens!
i really don't like telling people to wait on a phone and i know you have probably read all the threads but the pre will be the best phone this year outside of the 8900 and bold
plus i don't know about other carriers but if you have an individual plan with sprint that is 69.99 or higher per month you have the ability to recieve the 2 yr upgrade yearly...
...
I'd hold out until the Palm Pre launches. The Palm Centro uses the out dated Access OS, the Touch's Windows Mobile 6.1 OS is the work of Lucifer and the Instinct isn't a Smart Phone at all. The Palm Pre will have a 3.0 MP camera with flash and the OS, WebOS is based upon Linux.

BTW, the Samsung Instinct/M800 has been discontinued at the retail level and will be replaced on April 19th by the Samsung s30 which has quite a few things going against it.
1. No stylus included
2. No extra battery/battery charger
3. 2 GB microSD card replaced by a 1 GB one
4. Data speed down grade EVDO Rev A to Rev 0
5. Two bland colors: copper and graphite
...
Best Buy will be selling the Samsung s30 for $49.99 for both new customers as well as existing customers eligible for the 2 year HUP discount so forget going to a Sprint retail store since the discount at one of them is $129.99 AFTER you mail in a $100 rebate and WAIT up to 14 WEEKS.
...
do you own stock in bb or something get off their jock
🤨
...
I'm a Best Buy shareholder. I have been one long before I became employed by Sprint.
...
I initially had 250 shares when I first invested in Best Buy. I currently hold 1,000 shares. I want to see as many RCs/LRCs in corporate stores to contribute to the unemployment in America because the majority of them I have personally worked with as well as those I've met in various Sprint trainings are as bright as a burnt light bulb.
...
Well, good luck with that captain congenial.
🤣
...
Having a BS degree does have it's benefits in the DoD. The days of Sprint, just like Alltel Wireless, are numbered.
...
Corection to thread, an existing customer pays the $129.99 at Best Buy for an upgrade where as a new customer or an existing one who adds a line gets the Samsung Instinct s30 for $49.99 at Best Buy. A customer still is better off by purchasing the s30 at Best Buy and not have to wait up to 14 weeks to get the $100 mail in rebate like customers who purchase it from a corporate retail store. For some people, that instant $100 savings can may a difference.
...
no flash on initial device... ☹️
...
The HTC Diamond doesn't have a flash where as the HTC Touch Pro for $100 more does, plus have the ability to accept a microSD and has the business card reader software installed.
