I will be switching back to Sprint next month and I love Sanyo phones but the main screen on the Eclipse looks really small. Seems like the DLX had a larger screen. Thats the way it looked to me when I viewed both phones on Sprint.com. Whoever owns or has seen this phone in person pls respond. Thanks. 🙂

I work in one of Sprint's corporate Southeast Region retail stores and as one of our LRCs, I have the task of placing new handsets on the showroom floor and I have to say I am rather dissappointed with Kyocera's latest one. The only features the Katana Eclipse brings to the table are 2 external lights on the left/right hand edges of the outside cover which can be set to light up in 7 different colors and 40 different ways as well as 3 buttons for controlling various MP3 playing functions. I'd suggest either the currently available Motororazr VE20 or the LG Lotus slated for launch on October 19th. Besides, the Katana Eclipse in the silver color will be reaching it's EOL next month and being replaced by a black color as well as a pink one. Pre...

Yeah I saw the photo gallery of the Lotus on Engadgetmobile.com. Its a very interesting looking phone with a lot of features. I love the dark purple. I like the purple and red Samsung Rant(stupid name) too. I was also thinking about getting the new Palm Treo. Thanks for the info Saint.Patrick.

I have them both here, and the DLX does look bigger but both are the same. I think it's due to the DLX being flatter around the screen. Is Helio and VZW not doing it for you anymore? The Rant is coming out soon too, I thought you wanted a keyboard.

BTW you can have a pink or black one starting next month.

Well I currently have Helio and for the past 4 months the service has been pretty crappy. I live in Houston and recently we went through a bad storm and my phone didn't work @ all. It roamed the whole time. My parents have VZW and their phones worked just fine. My coworker has Sprint and she didn't have any problems with her phone either which baffled me because Helio uses Sprint towers. They suck and Im on my fourth Ocean. I thought about getting VZW but I like the handset lineup Sprint offers plus the Simply Everything Plan. VZWs unlimited plan doesn't include everything like Sprint...and yes I want a handset with Qwerty. Ive gotten use to texting that way. I like Sanyo for battery life and screen call feature. I still have my San...

Well I am currently waiting on the Diamond Pro which has a slide out qwerty keyboard and is a touchscreen. I played with the Diamond at the local Corp. store where I use to work and it was a very nice phone. I was amazed at the camera quality. I also have a Sanyo 8400 and have been happy with it but it is time to change to a phone with a lot more features and a more aggressive look. Check out the current Diamond and go from there. Sanyo lately has not released anything that is special or stands out. Good luck!
