If me and my bro want to try this PTT-DC-Qchat
how do we go about it we are with Sprint, do you have to pay extra for the service? And will any of the phones have multimedia cameras? or do you have to change over to Nextel?

You have to get the phones that are QChat enabled. They will be coming out toward the end of next week. They will have cameras.

Used it last weekend at a Fred's store. Signal on both services was weak to non-existent inside that building, so my wife and I used the directalk feature instead. When you have a four year old, who he's with at any given moment is imperative!

I'm confused between Qchat and direct talk.
If we got two qchat phones, how much do we have to add to our plan and will it renew our contract?

Directalk is a free service on Motorola handsets that support this feature. It's basically an off-network digital walkie-talkie that has about a six mile range and is similar to the Moto talkabouts you can buy at the store, but without the unwanted radio chatter and completely private because it's digital.

It is a great feature to have when in an area with poor or no network signal.
