Would you move to Sprint from Verizon Wireless

I currently have Verizon Wireless. After reading my "issues" I am having with Verizon, would you move to Sprint. I have heard they both use CDMA and share the same towers.

....
Hey whats up peoples....I have an issue to discuss with you guys.

I have been with Verizon Wireless since 2000. I recently moved to a new condo about 1 year ago. I am in the suburban St. Louis area. For the last month or so I have given up my AT&T home (wireline) phone and decided to save a little money and do the Wireless only phone thing.

For whatever reason, I have come to find out that my Verizon Wireless phone sucks when you are forced to deal with only having a cell phone as your only source of communication. I guess I did not pay too much attentio...

I say go for it. If VZ is not working for you then try something new. Also, you can save so much more money with Sprint by signing up on their SERO website.

$30 gets you 500 minutes, 7 pm nights, & unlimited data

$50 gets you 1200 minutes, 7 pm nights, & unlimited data

They have a higher rate plan and you can check it out by going to sprint.com/sero. They will ask you for an email address, just use mike.smith@sprint.com. They have another email address floating around this forum that you can use if this one no longer works. I don't think you will be disappointed with their service. I have been 100% satisfied with everything except for the phone selection.

Why give information and not give the full detail. u have to know a Sprint rep in order to get this plan if u go to the sero website which u didn't even supply. U cannot go beyond the first page without a sprint members email address. There are already plenty of people who has this plan who shouldn't have it.

Cry me a river 🙄

Sprint has all the tools in the world to stop any abuse as they see fit but they do not because they are hard up for new customers. I took full advantage of SERO and got about 4 friends set up as well. The crazy thing is that a Sprint employee gave me the information. So save me the employee handbook BS and go with the flow OR better yet be a spaz to everyone else who has threw the same info around this forum that I have 😛

Simple answer....I would go with Verizon in a heartbeat over Sprint. Your coverage issue may be with your equipment not your provider. Have a tech at a store check your phone out. Also when was the last time you updated your PRL? *228 opt 2
Best of luck

Actually I went to the Verizon Wireless corporate store a # of times, first they did a "hard" software upgrade while I waited in the store about 20 mins. I also did the *228 opt. 2. These did not help out. Also a tech at the corporate store "checked" out the phone and said there was nothing wrong with the phone.

Actually I don't think its my phone at all. My phone has coverage/singal issues in my condo, my condo parking lot, and in my office.

OK- so no defect with the phone. But my husband has the 8600 also and I have the EnV. We both have so-so service in our house. Not a big deal, but mine is always better than his. Your phone could still be the issue. Nothing wrong with it but other phones have better reception.

OOPs I hit submit before I was finished 🤭

What I would recommend is a call to CS and explain your story again. Let them know that you don't want to leave but may have no choice. If you are close to you upgrade date they may let you get a new phone and if not they still may. At that point you will be in your 30 day trial on the equipment. Try it out if it does not work, you return it and your Contract date goes back to the original date. Just an idea.

The last time I updated my phone on VZW before switching to Net10, it gave me less coverage.

Just to clarify, *228 option 2 updates the PRL. It does nothing for receiving VZW's signal unless it is a new VZW market, there is a new VZW tower or VZW just signed a different roaming agreement. VZW reps suggest it when they don't know what else to do. Kind of like a nice brush off. It is for the benefit of VZW's bottom line by controlling who you roam on.
Try Sprint, you can always port back or to another provider if it is not the answer.

Funny how some people assume that VZW is inherently superior. They are not. They are merely a good wireless carrier like all the rest. They are just more arrogant and more expensive than the rest.

sprint and verizon do share towers.. so unless your verizon phone is set to verizon only as far as roaming goes chances are sprint may not work that well where you are either... it sucks but thats prolly what'll happen.... but your best bet would be to try sprint to see.. you have 30 days to try the service and you only pay for what you use.. so it cant hurt right!? well good luck. Im in missouri myself, although not in stl ive used it a few times up in that area and it seems to work fine so you may find its exactly what your looking for!

not true Sprint has its own towers and one could be closer to his condo yielding him better service with Sprint, Sprint roams off of verizon but only when out of their native coverage area, so they don't share the same towers!!

Do you have any friends or neighbors with Sprint service? You might want to go to your neighbors and see what carriers they use and how happy they are with signal levels at that place.

You can always go try it and return it if it doesn't work, but I'd rather knock on a few doors before having a credit inquiry done needlessly.

I will most likely be dropping my Verizon account because I have tried to get a decent deal on a new 2 year contract.
CS (*611) seemed fairly set for no deals, and the local Verizon store was on the verge of rude.
I'm not rude or assertive enough to needle for a better deal or add on perks (good luck on perks)
I have an open order with Sprint SERO deal and am patient enough to do the drawn out deal for a decent Sanyo Katana DLX I will drop $150 down with $100 total MIR and Credit.
SERO is the only reason I have not looked into AT&T, yet also have friends who have good service with 'em.

Sprint and Verizon do share and here in Oregon and the service is now pretty much the same because Verizon is turning down the analogue to the point wh...
