I'm thinking about porting from vzw, but I'm still on the border line. What are some positive differences as to why I should port over?

This is my opinion. dont! but whatever your choice is, is all up to you. Try them out for 30 days see if you like it.
I used to work for sprint and had service with them for like...3 years, thats cause i had an employee plan. but if im really going to spend money, i would do some research etc. personally i wouldnt go back to them. VZW is better, dont know why u wanna leave them to go to sprint. But like i said, its all you.

(This is my opinion) When i had sprint, the service was about average, i lived in oklahoma city, which is the main city, i owned the sanyo 8300, sanyo 8400, and then upgraded to the sanyo katana DLX. i had signal here and there, i was able to make calls, but about...40% of my calls were static, and a couple were dropped, but i could still make calls. Now, when im outside i can get clear calls, just whenever im in buildings or even my house which i get static or drop calls. i couldnt complain because i had a employee plan and it was cheap! i had the employee rate for about 2 years. After i left sprint, thats when i was a regular consumer for 1 year. I had signal here and there, as usual etc.. But the thing that got me the worse is customer s...

Thanks for saying that.

Nextel had the BEST billing in wireless pre-merger, even beating Verizon and T-Mobile.

Hopefully, they will be able to continue with it under one umbrella.

I had verizon service for 10 years! and ported to Sprint just about 8 months ago...and I would never consider going back to verizon. The positives for me are phones, price, data price, DC, call clarity on par with verizon, great coverage. I have two iden phone, the Touch, and a Sanyo DLX and I really enjoy the service!!!... something that I could really never say with verizon..to me Verizon is boring, I am not dogging on verizon they are a great company, I just enjoy Sprint a lot more. Pick your poison! but Sprint is for me. And yes I am on SERO! 🙂

Coverage should be your main consideration. Pricing, CS, and phone selection are all DISTANT seconds at best.

Do the 30 day trial thing, and see whether or not Sprint works best for you. Where I work, Verizon won't get a signal, and AT&T works poorly inside my home. That is why I have neither.

I agree. Coverage should be number one. Why get it if you can't make a call in your area. Check it out first.

You'd think it's a no brainer, but that's one of the primary complaints people have. They sign up with a carrier and all is well at first. As soon as their love affair with the formerly new phone wears off they suddenly remember that reception has been an issue since the start...

If people would have reception as their primary factor and do some competitive research they would spare themselves a lot of headache.
