I was with Suncom, then AT&T Wireless, (after the buyout), then US Cellular, and now Cingular. I was offered a job at Sprint PCS as a sales manager and the only thing I noticed was the salary/wages are lower than what I expected. The salary, in my case, was about $9,000 lower than what I was being paid at the time. The commission structure almost made up for the difference but who wants a lower guarantee'd pay? I also did not like the fact they are required to sell long-distance at their stores. ☚ī¸

I worked for the at a customer care call center and let me tell you something we were pampered. That is by far the best place I've ever worked at.

I have been with Sprint now for a total of 8 1/2 years, of which 5 1/2 are with Sprint PCS specifically. I worked with Cellular One (now Cingular) previous to that. In also having friends that work with other carriers, I have found that most times, I seem to have it better as far as stability and support from the company. Our benefits are great and there's always a ton of options for movement within the company as well.
I have had friends that have moved from other carriers to work with me here at Sprint as well to escape things that they were unhappy about where they previously worked (i.e. a friend that worked in a Verizon wireless call center).
Overall, I'd say we're really treated pretty well and can at be confident we'll have a job. T...

All I can say is that I have worked my way high up into the VZ clan and VZ is considered to be one of the best employers in many of their markets nationwide. They are a sweet company to work for. I'm still considered a newbie here at Sprint since I'm still "training" (as if)... and they're on even play grounds right now... I don't know just yet... but it's not half bad. HOWEVER.. sprint is lacking in a lot of things... I wont go any further for now.

Seems to me "wonderdave" if it was so great at VZ, maybe you shouldn't have left. I have been with Sprint a little over a year and would agree that the base pay is a little lower then other places I have worked. But the commission opportunities more than make up for it and one would have to be brain dead to not be able to reach the quota's. Even more importantly the benefits are great and there is a strong sense of job security within the company.

I work for Sprint in Oklahoma I switched from Cingular. (Verizon is not in Ok) The salary range for Sprint for any given job title has a farely broad range. Based on Exp and negotiating skills at the time of hire. lol. Switching from cingular to Sprint for me was quite a big jump in pay. and the beneifits are great. Lots of vaction.
