Will Sprint see a version of the RIZR? Will it use the new OS like the RAZR 2 or will it be strapped with the slow, even more lagging, older OS?

New OS? It's not like the GSM versions abroad, that use the Linux OS. What OS are you talking about? Platform is J2ME on the CDMA Sprint branded Moto RAZR2.

I wish Sprint would get a Linux phone.

To answer your question, Sprint should get a Moto phone that is similar to the RIZR.

Is there a particular reason on my MM 7500 I cannot use data while roaming, but my friend with an 8400 can use Vision and apps? I have tried the software update throught the phone, but there is no update available.

When the ROKR(RIZR), RAZR2, and same line-up , Moto announced with the phones to be with Linux.
Only possible Sprint Linux based phone would probably be a Treo. Moto's haven't annouced a Linux based phone for CDMA (America).

If I'm not mistaken, you should only roam by voice, not WAP.

Well it must because I have gone into the phone and changed to roam, then have checked the SID code and the phone had switched to Verizon or Altell, and I could still use data.
